And that is why this GM and President need to go. Dumb ass moves like this really slow down a teams growth. - VANTEL
I have no desire to beat this horse, it is my sincere hope that they retire from the NHL at the end of the year. I suggested during pre-season that Henrik should give up the “C”. But it doesn’t matter if it is this management group or the next, if the twins want to play another year, they will be signed. They are 1 and 2 in literally* every statistical record the Canucks keep. They are certainly destined for the HHOF. It would be a PR nightmare for the team if they were ready to come back for one more and denied. Right or wrong, it’s up to them.
Now, from a performance perspective, they are still quality NHL players, good 2nd or high end 3rd line players. They are producing more with fewer minutes then some guys you really love. I agree, the pathetic back check(s) are painful to watch, but there are lots of other guys (on this team) that can’t back check for poop either. When the team was winning, and the twins were playing 10-12 min per night, no one said poop about their play. It’s the same for Chaput, as a 4th line guy 8 min a night he does a decent job, but expect him to get the equalizer late in a game, fuggetaboutit |

#1 C
Both top pairing dmen. Shutdown center. Another top 4 dman. Top 6 winger.
And the depth will improve with guys like OJ/Gaudette/EP added + maybe a UFA or 2 with all of the cap space.
Benning has set this team up nicely. - Nucker101
First time in years and years that Van has some actual prospects playing in Utica. Chatfield, Brisebois, Demko, MacEwen, Molino (maybe). Lind and Gad could be in Utica next season.

I think they can still produce and are quality guys.
They are slower and don't back check well.
My point is it is time for a new chapter. Like ASL said last night we eventually have to start a rebuild . Why put it off another year or two? |

So Saying it is dumb to sign two untradable players is freaking out

When someone tends to go on and on and on about it, yes I would call it freaking out.
Believe me, I want nothing to do with the Sedin's and have stated that I have never liked them, but , if Benning or whoever resigns them for a season, so be it.
I was laughing when I posted about how you have changed your line of thinking lately and have this draftist/anti-draftist mentality, but your needing too let the world know your disdain for the Sedin's hasn't changed.😁 |

With the Sedin's gone, they won't be "re"building anymore just building. |

Or from non-existent to 1st in conference. Na that could never happen. - Reubenkincade
Or NYJ, a team with a bunch of 1st & 2nd year players leading the team |

The final escrow numbers for 2015-16 are in and the results aren’t pretty for the players. BSN Denver’s Adrian Dater reports that the players received just 3% back out of the 17% that had been withheld from each pay. Unsurprisingly, the NHLPA hasn’t used the full 5% cap inflator each year since then in an effort to get the withholdings lower. Escrow is currently set at 11.9% this season, Dater adds. Even at that, it’s safe to suggest that this will be a big topic in the next round of CBA negotiations.
How is the cap going up and up if the players aren't even getting their full pay?!?!?! |

If going on and on about the same things upset you then this is not a place to be.
I still am not going to freak out about it but I do have an opinion about it. I am a draftist and have been for two years but enough is enough we can look at making change now.
I don't mean going all in on crazy signings. I mean bring in Vanek Hansen type players for a year and trade them at TDL . You can not trade the Sedins , they have told us as much they will not play for anyone else. THat is all. |

Laurent Brossoit Placed On Waivers
he's cheaper then the two Van has. Probably can't be any worse either. Monyota got a 4th, could probably get a 3rd for Nilsson from someone. |

I am not upset one bit, I find it quite entertaining actually.
Too bad you only started to be a draftist 2 years ago. I have been a big believer in the draft after watching the great Islanders teams of yesteryear and even more so when the Canucks selected the great Libor Polasek with 1st round pick in 1992.

I admit I have been hoping for top picks for just a couple of years. I wanted change since 2012 but like Gillis I didn't pay attention to it.
Going forward I would rarely ever think of trading a top 3 pick |
