Team is not going to be any better next year, leave what ever prospects Canucks have in Utica and resign Sedins and Vanek for another year.

If Gaudette is going to be the next Boeser, let’s see him at training camp.

If Benning doesn't claim him he's done as a gm.

I'm with Vantel that next year is the year to bring in the youth whether they're ready or not you push for the playoffs. I don't care of it means they're development might be stunted like virtanan, as long as thre hockey is entertaining.

Although to play devils advocate of the twins resigned and played 10 minutes a night for 1 million each i dont see what the problem is?

I remember someone promising not to freak out or complain about them resigning as well.

Edit, doesn't a leadership core of captain chara, assistants hank and dank get you hard? With chara signed we might get tree back?
Chara to mentor tree, twins to mentor Peterson, guadette on the third line.

And that is why this GM and President need to go. Dumb ass moves like this really slow down a teams growth.
- VANTEL

I guess it depends on if you believe the group is ready to grow. Personally I think they still need another bad season, of which the twins can easily help deliver, before its time for the group to take a step forward.

Individually there are players ready to take on more and I think Green has done a decent job identifying and giving to those ready for the opportunity

That was last week, he will change his mind again by the end of next week.

It's actually amazing how some people in this thread can't acknowledge we're one of the worst teams in the NHL.

The team isn't going to go last to first in one season. That would be remarkable.

Not the end of the world when they resign cheap deals. See JV interview today on bets with hank? The respect he has is huge. Bring them back for one more year. They were fine until we got all these injuries and got to many minutes. Imagine they weren’t here, it would be chaput and Megna on PP!

We ain’t winning the cup Next year, having the sedins on 3rd line is fine. Sit them a few games to rest if need be.

I think they can try to get back to being a normal team meaning not tank. They will still be a bubble team and collect a 10-15 draft pick

It's also amazing how some people in this thread can't acknowledge that they are not as bad as the current record shows when they aren't completely depleted.

I also don’t think our young guys are ready. Should all be in the Ahl to start unless someone blows away pre-season

Team is solid and underrated.

Injuries have hurt them. 4 games above .500 with Horvat healthy and Tanev/Edler/Gudbranson/Sutter/Eriksson all missing games.

If healthy, and with more youth next year I think they’ll be in the wildcard hunt.

I think you have a valid complaint, even if it will be to no avail. If the team is going to sign 2 below average players to 1 year deals, you'd hope that those 2 could be flipped for picks at the TDL to help the rebuild

Wasnt saying that, I meant transitioning from the tank phase into a building one. I think after this draft (getting Dahlin being the exception) they will still need one more top propsect before they will have a formidable core to grow and build around

Seen the impact of BB this season. 23OA pick. A pretty good one. Van still has both 5OA playing against men. First time in years that Van has quite a few young prospects playing in the AHL.

#1 C

Both top pairing dmen. Shutdown center. Another top 4 dman. Top 6 winger.

And the depth will improve with guys like OJ/Gaudette/EP added + maybe a UFA or 2 with all of the cap space.

Benning has set this team up nicely.

I think a few moves and they could be, but I do think that in the long run it would be better to get another high pick the year after so they have depth. Ultimately its TL/JB's decision to when they start building, tanking is the easy part

You want to see irony?

Me : I like the Sutter Gudbrandson trades . I say fire Jim

Others hate the Gudbrandson Sutter trades and Eriksson Gagner signings they say bring back Jim
