Let him prove it and force the canucks to waive Chaput then. We're not winning a cup next year so what's the rush? - Pres.cup
Wait..... WHAT! They aren't? I feel as if next season is next season. Going in Pom Poms strong.
Also you never really know, just look at VGK. I mean who knew. |

It will be a serious volume off game this afternoon. I feel bad for Brock having to put up with the interviews from those Strunzo's. |

Foote and another prospect or a 2nd round pick would be fine for Tanev.
IDK if Guddy gets a first. Haven't heard any rumour saying he is worth a 1st. OJ and Tanev would be good together. Dahlin and Guddy could work. Dahlin and Foote would be a very good future. - manvanfan
So?
Last year nobody thought Hansen was worth a recent 1st rounder and a 4th. Nobody thought Burrows was worth Dahlen(recent 2nd) and that is what they got. Guddy brings Leadership, Physicality, Reduced high scoring chances making player take garbage shots. He is overall hard to play against in the playoffs due to his style. I could see a 1st maybe more as the value.
The only other UFA D that is considered better than him is Green and he nas a full NTC making him harder for Detroit to trade. Guddy can go anywhere we want to send him which also increases his value. Names like OEL, Hjalmerson, EK have been through out there was possibly available, but OEL and EK would be off season deals as you want more guarantees. EK won't be traded until after July 1 a Ottawa will want to see what an extension looks like. I doubt OEL and Hjalmarson get traded this year as Arizona will want to kee that top 4. Their biggest problem is young forwards and trash goaltending. |

Like I said last night I am done arguing the with people who think it is a good idea to bring back 2 x untradable 38 year olds to a rebuild team. Those people deserve to watch another boring year of crap. Enjoy. |

Hey we still have some options to improve our D this offseason. There's some guys that we haven't signed before. Get to work Jim!

Its not that its a good idea its that there is not much of an option out there. Idc if they retire but it means we can expect a long season most likely. |

I doubt Brock will get any screen time CBC and SN will be too busy with their analysis of Matthews jock strap and his most recent underwear change. We'll probably just see the past 10 Matthews goals replayed over and over anyways... |

We may as well snag him he'll be ahead of Stecher and Hutton on this depth chart. |

They brought in Gagner to cusion the transformation for one year . Is this another failed signing by mgmt?
Bringing back 2 untradables with 14 mil in cap space is like walking in to a whorehouse with 10 000 and selecting the 83 year old lady at the reception for your good time. At least she has experience |

I think most on here don't really want them back...but the reality is they are probably going to resign for one year cheap. Whether we like it or not. |

And that is why this GM and President need to go. Dumb ass moves like this really slow down a teams growth. |

I don't know how they figure they would be good to bring back. Other then if they want to lose terribly for another season. Points or not they aren't good anymore. A guy who scores 20 points but can skate is better. |

You're serious? Gaudette and Pettersson are better already than most players on this team.
This team is notorious for gifting time to undeserving players.
I am done arguing with silly people that thinking it is a good idea to bring back two slow 38 year olds that don't back check and can't be traded.
If you truly believe that bringing them back is a good idea then you deserve the bottom five finishes this team gifts us fans year after year. - VANTEL
Pettersson is the one I have mixed feelings about. Gaudette has 3 years of NCAA hockey under his belt, so he should be given a long look. EP appears to have been playing wing the majority of his games and I'd be concerned VAN either doesnt give him time to adjust to the position in NA or they throw him on Wing because its the easiest way to keep him in the NHL lineup |

If Benning doesn't claim him he's done as a gm.
I'm with Vantel that next year is the year to bring in the youth whether they're ready or not you push for the playoffs. I don't care of it means they're development might be stunted like virtanan, as long as thre hockey is entertaining.
Although to play devils advocate of the twins resigned and played 10 minutes a night for 1 million each i dont see what the problem is?
I remember someone promising not to freak out or complain about them resigning as well.
Edit, doesn't a leadership core of captain chara, assistants hank and dank get you hard? With chara signed we might get tree back?
Chara to mentor tree, twins to mentor Peterson, guadette on the third line. |

Team is not going to be any better next year, leave what ever prospects Canucks have in Utica and resign Sedins and Vanek for another year.
If Gaudette is going to be the next Boeser, let’s see him at training camp. |
