I'm sure assistant gm Daniel will want to sign Henrik but I don't think assistant president Henrik will agree to lowball Daniel. - Pres.cup
It still has to go thru Linden who will pass it along to a couple of Francesco's cousins. |

So you're suggesting gifting a rookie a spot rather then letting them develop in the ahl? - Pres.cup
You're serious? Gaudette and Pettersson are better already than most players on this team.
This team is notorious for gifting time to undeserving players.
I am done arguing with silly people that thinking it is a good idea to bring back two slow 38 year olds that don't back check and can't be traded.
If you truly believe that bringing them back is a good idea then you deserve the bottom five finishes this team gifts us fans year after year. |

Those claiming that Gaudette has to go learn in the AHL .
He was drafted the same year as Brock Boeser and chose the same path for developing. His numbers the last two years are almost identical to Brocks last two years. He has developed one extra year ,three now. I can promise he is better than Dowd Megna Chaput Burmistrov and probably better than Gagner.
Remember last year people saying put Jake and Brock on the Comets? |

Stealth tank - LeftCoaster
It's kind of a really good idea. I bet once players starting getting healthy then you will see players traded away. Make it a bit harder to win games. Also Chaput not going down isn't a stealth tank. That's a full fledge "we are trying to lose" tank. |

Tampa Bay is likely to pursue a top-four defenseman who can play the right side between now and the trade deadline, reports Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic (subscription required). While Jake Dotchin has fared relatively well alongside Victor Hedman, Lightning GM Steve Yzerman will probably want someone that is a bit more proven in that role once the playoffs are underway. However, that is a common need for a lot of teams (LeBrun adds division-rival Toronto is another team looking for help there) so it will be interesting to see if they can find the right fit. Given their group of quality prospects that they could deal from, they could have a leg up on some of those other teams.
Van has 2 for sale - manvanfan
if there is any truth to this and TB is serious about going for a cup they would have to consider Tanev if available, a top pairing of Tanev /Hedman would be pretty solid and still play to the TB strengths of fast transition attacking team.
I like JB's overall time here , but if he could make a trade with TB and doesn't , well to quote Burkie "I'll drive him to the airport myself" |

Many things to think about when trading Tanev
1. Tanev has a M-NTC
2. If he can stay healthy. I think he could stay healthier in the East.
3. That does leave a hole on Van's top pairing with an already lack of depth on the team and in the prospect pool.
4. You may have to accept a conditional pick for Tanev incase he doesn't play through the playoffs.
Saw Hamonic a decent comparable got for a 1st and 2-2nds.
I would probably ask for a D prospect, F prospect and a 2nd (conditional 1st if they make finals) and he plays more then 50% of the games. |

Tanev on TB, man would the Bolts be stacked
Stamkos, Kucherov, Palat, T.Johnson, Point, Namestnikov up front
Hedman, Stralman, Tanev, Sergachev, Coburn on the blueline

I would consider Foote + for Tanev. But the problem is that we would need to sign Guddy for a few years as we wouldn't have better options in FA. I would rather send Guddy for the highest pick we can(likely a 1st) and keep Tanev 2 years then trade him. Unless he has a career ending injury I don't see his value dropping much. Tanev would be the best guy to start OJ with next season if he is ready, or Dahlin. |

Foote and another prospect or a 2nd round pick would be fine for Tanev.
IDK if Guddy gets a first. Haven't heard any rumour saying he is worth a 1st. OJ and Tanev would be good together. Dahlin and Guddy could work. Dahlin and Foote would be a very good future. |

8-2 Leafs.
But...Chapoo beats the crap out of Kadri...big Guddy and Martin rematch...Marky 4 goals on the first 10 shots...Tanev out 4-6 weeks and will be untradeable...Sedins on PP1 AND...wait for it...Nilsson pulls out the bomb and lets in only 4 in relief of Marky...on 16 shots.
Brock and Vanek score again finally. |

Let him prove it and force the canucks to waive Chaput then. We're not winning a cup next year so what's the rush? |
