They are my pick for this year. There window is now, much like the Pens. Long term and with a longer window, I believe it is the Jackets, Canes, and Leafs.
I’ve been watching the Penguins and I see their struggles. I don’t see how adding Kane and Girgensons makes us bad in the short term or the long-term. Same reason why I don’t want to let go of Rust or Sheary if we don’t have to. I’m by no means saying that we’re going to become cup favorites with these moves, but I think it gets us closer to that conversation. Did anyone have Ottawa going as far as they did last year? No. Sometimes things just work out. I’m just advocating my opinion, we’ll see which direction management takes
