Very nice - Aetherial
It's looking up...we need a complete reset on D and goaltending until Demko is ready but two more good draft picks and we should have a foundation to work with. |

Id have to agree with that.
Say we keep tanev, pouliot, OJ, tree (hopefully) and go from there. Later when we have more depth Tanev can be traded |

Feeling conflicted...do I cheer for our 2017 first pick (Pettersson) and our 2018 first pick (Dahlin!), or Team Canada? Tough call!
My best case: Canada by 1 with Gads scoring the winner and Pettersson awarded player of the game. - SlightlyOffside

I think EP has done enough for critics to stop whining for the time being. OJ showed well in the tournament. JG started strong. Fading a bit.
Lockwood was the biggest surprise for me. - manvanfan

2018 draft Canucks can get those 2 and best even 2017. Foundation set. |

I think he is a very nice prospect, but, to put it into perspective, 4 players from Canada were selected after him.
Formenton Comtois Gadjovich and Batherson. |

He also came off an injury. I don't put a lot of stock into Team Canada selection committee . Dipietro who was the best player in the Memorial Cup not selected. Lots of politics in the selections |

Lind is a better prospect than all of them. Team Canada executives need to be shot out of a canon. (frank)ing morons |

Cody Glass Rasmussen Tippet and a few other first round picks didn't make the cut also . Selection is a joke |

Not agreeing with the selection process but Drake Batherson was voted player of tournament(according toTSN)...the team has 4 balanced scoring lines, as was pointed out by Bobby Mac during game.
All lines were fairly even in production.
It is an on-going issue in Canada, where we can have 2 strong clubs put together, but are only allowed 1.
Several very good players didn't even get considered. |

Yet the team made gold medal final. They must know something. Sometimes building a team around chemistry you see at tryouts over individual skill will go a long way. |

They have a strong D and that’s carried them. They have also only beaten very poor teams. They should being winning. No excuse for leaving most of the countries top forwards off the roster |

Linden hinted in interview it was Makar they wanted if they had wanted over Nico or Nolan. But Avs took that choice away from Canucks. I also believe it because JB keeps repeating his top player choice is offensive RHD.
But glad EP is looking better then expectations. Though was hoping Tanev would get traded for Dallas pick and Canucks have both of them. - Nuck4U
In the year they took OJ. JB was after a center and PLD was taken before he could take him. Obviously other GM's are just viewing things the same way that JB is and taking the player JB wants, before JB can pick him.
From rumours over the years JB wanted Larkin, didn't hear what he wanted but BB is just fine. PLD and Makar. |

He played in 3 out of 5 games. I didn't think he would even make the team. He played well in the games before he got injuried. |

They thougt OJ would be taken by Oilers and why PLD was the rumor choice for Canucks. At draft table JB was miked up and liked BB higher and was surprised he dropped to him. The Larkin rumor was supposed preference over JV though that was MG attributed.
But what of any of it or last draft? What are you insinuating? |

In the 16 draft most people thought that Columbus would go with JP but instead took the center in PLD. Oilers weren't going to take PLD, they would have taken a D instead but JP winger not a center.
I'm saying that the guys that JB likes are also very much liked by other GM's and picked before JB can get to them.
If JB got his way then our current team would have Horvat-Larkin-PLD as the Centers. |
