If they are waiting to see after 3.5 years how he will do then this team is screwed. They are waiting to see who is available |

I don’t see any rush resigning JB or not.
Only the media makes a big deal out of it.
We will know soon enough how much stroke JB still has come the TDL. |

Having a lame duck GM when trades need to be made is sort of a big deal. |

Well....he is going to continue to act in the best interest of the franchise if he wants another job....I don’t see it as a huge issue especially since we all know that his bosses have overseen every decision from the start of his tenure |

We will see won’t we. I don’t prescribe to JB being a lame duck. Trades will happen. |

Disagree.
I'd assume he'd only be allowed to do obvious deals like Vanek for a pick, no "hockey trades" or any other type of deals like a Sven deal.

I see us trading Vanek & at least 1 D.
Idk who but guessing Hutton 1st then maybe EG 2nd if it were up to me. |

If EG isn't going to sign then he needs to be traded 100% to the highest bidder. Losing him for nothing would be ridiculous.
Hes #1 on the list until/unless he signs before the TDL, ahead of Vanek and anyone else. |

What do you disagree about? Nothing in your post disagrees with what I wrote lol. You disagree that Benning will act in the best interest of the franchise? |

I’d be guessing feelers r put out to generate interest in EG. Seed the interest to get a bidding war going best as possible. If not then i’d presume him resigning here. |

I disagree that it doesn't effect what he can potentially do at the TDL. |

Then this ties into Benning again with EG, something's gotta give there. If the organization is unclear/undecided about both of their futures then this franchise isn't exactly stable heading into the TDL lol. |

Because they're clearly still evaluating the job he's done and like Vantel said, its possible that they want to see who from other teams will be available this summer.
And he can still be the lame duck GM the TDL, FA did it with Gillis. |

I think Jim will do what he believes is best. You are right he wants a letter of recommendation . Nucker is right they will keep it simple and do the obvious things like Vanek Gudbrandson. We will miss out on things like possible trades for lesser players but the new guy can try to salvage that in the summer. |

FA blocked MG from trading Kesler to ANA or PIT at the TDL and he was fired shortly after. |

If aqulini and Linden have to sign off on anything anyways I don’t see how he would be restricted if they like the deal. He can still propose whatever he wants |

Yeah Jason Brough said he did a write up for the Athletic about Benning being lame duck and wrote is this the best thing for the club? He wondered was their possibility Jim could do things in his interest to save his job. Linden told him anything Jim does has to be approved. |

For sure, but that basically means he's just working the phones and FA/Linden are running the team. I think they'd be a terrible GM duo . |

This is purely speculation and hasn’t been confirmed. Is your source Tony Gallagher ? |
