Where did Makita go???

I just went to quote a post of his and it disappeared, along with his other posts in here. Hoefully CaptEO didn't "re-assign" him.

I removed them because I didn't want Nucker to take my joking in the wrong context.

Well then there would be one other prospect worth following down there in the real development league...

These are challenging times but we must stay the course, no to Demko getting thrown into this hot mess. When Horvat gets healthy the entertainment value should go up, but it'll still be a mess until more waves of youth appear.

Very true. I'm fine with Demko getting a game if he keeps trending up, but agree he shouldn't be up for any length of time. I'm hoping for a very similar lineup next year and a whole lot more quality down in Utica next year.

Do you recall Demko was up but never got a game. Unless there is a long term goalie injury doubt he’ll get any starts this season. They have a development plan for him and it seems to be going well.

That is the best thing that could happen to this team, patience.

I don't mind a couple more 1 to 3 year contracts and PTO"S again this offseason for this reason, let them get the icetime/skill/confidence they need to succeed. Pettersson/Dahlen still havn't played on the small ice much, that will take some time to adjust. I could see Gaudette maybe making the lineup as the NCAA seems to prep them a little better. I'd love to see some of them in Utica this year if possible.

Lots of money in vegas, they have to be good, we support win or lose because hockey is in our blood. Its all about the almighty dollar like everything else.

I’ve been to game in Vegas and the atmosphere was awesome. It made Rogers Arena feel like a court room. The fan base there is one of reasons why they have started off so strong.

There's a lot of empty seats in Vancouver these days and you can get lower bowl seats at basically the same price nose bleed seats were back in 2010/2011.

Keep Dowd and trade Sutter.

Between Sam, LE and Sutter its like 14 million tied up in players who do nothing.

Gaunce or Dowd can bring what Sutter brings.

- mauryballstein

The team has about 60 mil in cap space on players that do nothing. This same problem existed before Sutter Loui Gudbrandson and Gagner

The shorter the better on the contracts for the UFAs, I wouldn't do any 3 year deals, but we might need 3 or 4 of them.

Lots of speculation for unknowns. But two factors to keep in mind:

1) Canucks won’t contend until young high end talent is added when ready.
2) Until challenged no one knows when these prospects can play the NHL game.

Once Horvat and Baerschi(to a lesser extent Sutter) are back i think they are worth seeing. I will either see them play TBL or Boston depending on which game my brother in law is on call for.

Well i must admit even my openminded optimism is taking a big hit this season.

3 consecutive years of massive injuries.
My expectations have not changed nor have i been disappointed. Waiting on prospects & the TDL & draft is once again what remains for us again. Not all bad but hardly exciting.

Other than BB there is not much good to say about this season & roster. Vanek has shown what a pro he is & will get us a good return i am sure of. Dowd i like & he will be a good 4th liner going forward. The D shows no signs of growth. Someone has to go at or before the TDL. I’m fairly certain Gaudette will get a chance this year & burning 1 year up of his ELC. Some see that as a waste but i don’t. Demko will get in a start or 2 near seasons end to wet his appetite. Nillson won’t be back.

Yeah unfortunately the market dictates some of that, if they are half-decent players than they demand more salary/term. Kane will get 7 for 7 at this point based on how dominant and consistent he has been. I'd rather see some cheap adds like uncle Leo Komarov/grabner for 1 or 2 years, cody franson/jack johnson for one year 1 mil. Just bring in some guys that can put on the sweater and let the kids be in the AHL and earn a roster spot the hard way, but also are decent pro's that could play themselves into trade chips. The hard part is convincing guys to play here instead of sign the same deal to play for a contender or tax exempt team. Vegas is straight up tax exempt, you make twice as much as a hockey player there, it's nuts!

I hope they get Gaudette/trade Vanek, both are for the best. Burning a year on the ELC is tempting for the player. Otherwise they can just sign elsewhere.

A friend made a big batch over the holidays, he drops a big teaspoon in his french press so I'm trying the same with stove-top espresso and Sortilege Maple Cream Liqueur.
3 days until they play the Leafs, should be entertaining in here.

Wasnt bad last time they played. Trolls come along and say "wow your team/player sucks" and we agree with them. No pushback, like the team we support
