Depending on the player, I'm willing to move one of each picks. Forget trading for OEL or Karlsson at this point. Try to make a deal around Nelson for a better fit for the 3rd line if you have to. Medium or smaller type moves can help as well. Just changing the mix can do wonders as well. - ses111
So Nelson and a pick for gudbranson? Something like that? The d really needs to be addressed with 44 and 55 out |

I haven't really been keeping up with the day-to-day over the last couple of weeks so I don't know what the cool kids are saying, but I'd rather see Beau and Ho-Sang...warts and all...on this team than whatever collection of leftovers they keep calling up and throwing into the lineup. I really thought our days of seeing people like Bernier and Prince out there at all were over, short of an injury plague. Bottom six options on the wings look like a whole lot of nothing right now to me.
Might be better to figure out why both d-men insist on staring at the guy with the puck all the time while his buddy's always wide open right in the slot. That seems to be the obvious problem... |

I do not know enough about Gudbranson to know if he would be a big help. Isles need to fix the entire defensive structure and not just trading for a dman. |

So we all want a top 4 d man or a top 2 and teams don't just give them to you Edmonton aside (sorry schwein) and in their case they give forwards away. Teams are going to want something in return and currently 72 and 66 value have plummeted and probably 29's as well. So we have picks but the team we trade with is going to want something back like a current roster player of value. So outside of the top 6 because we aren't trading any of them who are we giving back for this player? Picks maybe toews or aho? What other current player is of any value to another team? I think a trade is harder than it seems because we don't have great forward depth and our d is depleted. This isn't a defense of snow it's a question to those who demand a trade, who are you willing to part with that another team actually wants?
For the record I also would like to see a trade - Upstate_isles
No apology needed, and I’d offer up Nelson and a 1st. Teams I’d target would be be Van, Florida, Detroit and Arizona. Players I’d ask for are Tanev, Pysk/Matheson, Green and Goligoski/Hjalmarsson. Of the 6 I’d prefer Matheson, Hjalmarsson and Tanev in that order. Price to snag these guys won’t be cheap, not with teams like Washington, Toronto and Edmonton also looking for D. But with JT and Bailey on expiring contracts, an argument could be made that the Islanders should be in a win now frame of mind come the playoffs. |

I do not have a big issue with Ho Sang and Beau getting more time in Bridge. I think both guys have struggled. I agree about the defense. This team still does not have a clue on playing defense and trading for one dman will not fix things all that much and especially the type of dman Garth trades for. |

I just do not get this idea the Isles have very little to trade. Teams would take Nelson. Garth does not need any more excuses not to trade. |

Nelson has some worth, and when paired with a high pick should get you something. It really just depends on what other teams are willing to pay. |

That's possible but not if you want a real impact player that's actually going to help this team. Unless a team that's out of it has someone of interest I don't see a deal without a current player maybe buffalo or Arizona but ristolinin is gonna cost and is who I'd like from them. Maybe a team in cap trouble as well not sure what we can afford to take on in salary - Upstate_isles
Yeah that's kind of where I was going with that. Or maybe Anaheim who already has a stable back end (maybe not so much lately haha). The bottom line is He has to make something happen. Anyone could always come up with an excuse. He's been making up excuses for over a decade it's incredible. That time has passed we may very well lose our franchise center due to the usual inaction. |

I know that but its also a team up against the cap too and have important players to resign ...
With the cap going up a lot, most teams are lucky |

It's better they get a lot of ice time there to fix their game then 10 minutes a night up here. It's a week or two thing I would guess |

So we trade Nelson for d which we need but now we have even less skill and scoring in bottom 6. One hole filled one hole dug |

Its a bit easier to trade for F's then dmen, unless its bottom 5/6 guys which I believe Garf will obtain in a trade for depth purposes ... |

I don't think the 3rd line being less-than-great would be such a problem if this team could get their act together on the blueline. If we had won some, or most, of the last few games nobody would care about the 3rd line's struggles. |

Why don't we just refer to them as the 4th line now cause that's what they really are. Yes if the pk could get it together that would be ok |
