I could see Pouliot and was going to add him but decided not to. Stecher and Hutton I don't see it if we are competing for playoff runs. - Reubenkincade

Yup. Patience is required. Some want everything done at once. Trade Tanev Gudbranson Edler Vanek etc. All should have been done yesterday.lol - Reubenkincade
Yeah, start the rebuild and stop shuffling the deck chairs.
Start new in 2018, but I'm expecting them to just resign JB and continue with TL being the go between.

Aquilini reminds me of Paulie from Goodfellas.

Of all the hopes posted for Canuck moves yours sure sound like a tall order. Like in wanting to get rid of the owner, ie his rep in TL, to change the team the way you want. Maybe its the "fish rots from the head" take. But admire the go big or go home persistence on this.
Im not denying that he isnt. Waiting for a player to go on the decline before attempting to trade has been this franchises downfall for years. The fact that we got returns on hansen and burrows still shock me. We have let soo many players walk to free agency because we waited too long to trade them before their decline was too far gone for a team to trade for. - Codes1087
hanson wasnt declining if you ask me...at least while he was here anyways.
burrows yes....luckily the ottawa gm is an idiot
Van is in the best position possible. They are losing with good players on the team. (Thanks to all the injuries) Why would you not want to add the top draft pick you are already going to get to other good players? Tanev isn't past his prime and the team isn't a middle to lower table team that "needs" to bottom out like the TML did. They are already bottoming out except for the draft lottery.
Should specify, trading Tanev for picks. Trading Tanev for a much further along prospect or an younger NHL regular is fine.
You can have him...don't need another Burrows here. Been there done that.
Sedans will resign for cheap...no big deal. - LordHumungous
John Shannon: “In Calgary, just get a sense that management may be feeling a shake-up is necessary… not getting the results and not scoring … time to make some “adjustments”."
Calgary trades for picks, to trade away those picks for players. They have swapped 25 picks since Jan of 15.
For comparison sake Van has only swapped 15 picks in that time.

Personally I don't know why people, reporters, feel the Flames should be better than they currently are? They've got three great young forwards in Monahan, Gaudreau & Tkachuk but it's pretty thin beyond that, at forward anyways.

Because they were a young team in the playoffs a few years back. Teams are expected to take steps forward which the Flames haven’t done.

Please resign Gudbranson and trade Tanev , enough of this "Elite" crap when it comes to Tanev , he's a good stay at home d , thats it ! He doesn't protect anybody , doesn't hit anybody , doesn't contribute offensively .
Trade him while all the analytics guys are still "high" on him, or maybe just high. and while the traditional hockeyminds are hung over and fat from their turkeys.
hint hint aren't him and Tavares boyhood teamates ..send him to them for some picks and a prospect. hell even make it a blockbuster
