Mulligan implies he'll bounce back, im not sure id make that bet on someone turning 30 next year
- Sabresfan-365

good point on the age thing...but his play has improved quite a bit over the past month

I think the sabres have put enough of a "lead" in the bottom pick to actually try to win for a bit
Tennyson= tank
Griffen=tank
Nolan=tank
Belevue = tank
Antipin = tank and develop
Gorges = original tanker
Moulson and his 0 points in 14 games = tank
Wilson= tank
Convinalo= tank
Chad johnson = tank
Lehner = playing better, but tanky too

The more I watch the juniors the more you could see why jbotts would want a high pick

You have to imagine tpegs is on board too
Especially with silent sam and nylander not looking like core guys

Love the blogs, just an opinion.

it's cool...i just saw those first two months as being a sever lack of depth

Where’s everyone who gave me sh!t when I said the Bills had a good shot at the playoffs a few weeks ago?!

Just gotta “trust the process”

And cheer for Cinci, Oakland & Jax!
Hahaha

In all seriousness...
I originally thought our over/under would be 6 wins
Considering how totally sucky Tyrod has been for the most part,
this defense has taken a HUGE LEAP

Sure, we still have holes to fill
But if we can draft or sign a legit QB this year, I think it bodes quite well for us to at least be a playoff challenger from now on

Anyways...

yeah, I get that...and if it happens, it happens...

they've been playing much better as of late and but for a few missed opportunities, could have had a winning record in December....

that said, you just never know with this team

- Michael Pachla

I think playing tennyson, Griffen and moulson 14 games put us in a great spot to pick early and now try.

Perfectly played by jbotts

i'd ink him immediately to a four-year, $26 million deal because for me, it's more about term than $$$
- Michael Pachla

Depends on the potential return in a trade for me.

If I can get a 1st plus a decent defense prospect, might help more long term.

i'm giving Okposo a mulligan this year because of what he went through in the off season
- Michael Pachla

Ya, I can see that as well, was thinking that as I wrote it...
I kept it in there because I don’t think his production will warrant the contract value over the term given his age.

Was listening to NHL radio on XM yesterday, they were talking about the various teams and were focused on the Sabres for a few moments...the summary was
- Sabres and Coyotes are Sellers for sure, likely joined by a couple of others including Sens
- see ROR and Okposo as trade bait, but reality is those contracts are currently untradeable
-Likely trade candidates are Kane, Pommer, Pouloit, Gorges...maybe Bogo
-they love Mittelstadt, but are not ready to appoint him to the NHL yet using playing against 19 year olds versus 27 year old men

Tennyson and Moulson, yes. I don’t get the Griffith hate. He’s a 13th forward who was played on our 4th line and eventually waived. I don’t think he ever actually hurt us

He’s already bounced back though
Been producing at a pretty decent rate after that horrible start
Since he’s been solid throughout his career,
I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt & say he wasn’t ready to start the year bc of his medical issues
He’s playing fine now though

Will he drop off at some point?
Certainly possible

I mean, they're missing these opportunities mostly cause they're just not good. This isnt a never know kinda team. They're bad, but on paper they shouldn't be as bad as they've been. But on paper it's still a bottom 10 team. performing as such for the rest of the season may pull them out of a top 3 pick but they'll still be drafting pretty high and that's not including whatever drop off you may assume with a potential kane trade.

Griffith played mostly on the 3rd line this season when he was in the lineup

Pouliot-Reinhart-Griffith
was line3 to open the season

After that, when lines were being juggled a bit, he was still on the 3rd line quite a bit
Not saying he got lots of playing time,
but it wasn’t 8min a night either

im mostly thinking about a potential move. Like if someone was willing to take on that contract, i wouldn't hesitate thinking about whether he could bounce back. All id be thinking is this is a lot of money for someone in his 30s that we can move.

i'd see it a an accomplishment for him if he could hit the 40-point mark...that poop he went through totally messed him up in more ways than one

Hey... I’m just saying there’s a chance!

I still think we should’ve tanked...
but if we can sign Keenum or Cousins,
and use all those draft picks to fill holes,
this team could get pretty legit pretty quick

I knew it was going to be a long year as soon as we took him instead of Chiquorin.
