My mistake earlier. Trade freeze ended Dec 28

No rush really in trading him, except to avoid another injury...but with a lucky franchise like this, i wouldn't worry about it.

Be realistic dude...it will be more like Boeser-Horvat-Pettersson-Tanev for Karlsson and Burrows.
- LordHumungous

wonder what the price would be for phaneuf

might as well try while the sens are badly losing trades

try say EG + goldolbin for Phaneuf n see if they go for it.

what do I cry about? Other that I don't like management because they won't rebuild. They keep trying to win and fail so they tank at the deadline, at least for the past two years.

If they had a management group with an actual plan that tried to lose/rebuild instead of a group that failed to win I'd be happy.

I love the kids, I want them to play the kids, even if it means losing with kids, but mix in a few vets. We all want the same thing, getting there is where our views differ.

They try and win hockey games because that's what NHL teams do. NO GM in history has come out the opening press conference and said "this team is intentionally going to lose this season for the purpose of tanking". Which is funny because you hate how JB talks but that's exactly what you are wanting him to say.

The plan is draft and develop. They have been 2nd and 3rd last in the past couple seasons. Exactly what you want, high draft picks.

How many times do people need to explain the plan that just about everyone else can see?

With the lotto having changed to no longer the last team in the standings having the best odds to pick 1OA it really doesn't pay to be really bad. You're more likely to drop 3 spots from the top 3 than stay where you are or improve your position.

The teams that are trying to win, but just aren't quite there yet, are much more likely to get those top 3 spots (which was the whole point of the change to prevent teams like Edmonton stockpiling 1OA talent and spreading it out more). I'd much rather the Canucks be closer to the playoff cut line where all they can do is move up rather than in the last three in the standings where they're more likely to move down.

I like what most of what the Canucks are doing. They are improving with the aid of some vets. 2 highest draft picks aren't playing on the team. They aren't forced into players before they need too. Have enough depth so the Chaput's, Megna's aren't roster staples.

There are core players but you still have other players and i'd rather have the "other" players have chemistry with some of the core players before it's time to compete for a cup.

I want the high pick. I can not watch a game and not hope they win. The reality is we need another high pick or two so the end result does come down to we need to get top 10 pick which means we need to lose.

No one cheers to lose because we don't like Canucks , it is long term thinking. We are getting close to having a good young competitive roster. We are almost there.

Currently in Utica 2 undrafted players are on a better pace then Jake was last season.

Hopefully they can turn into NHL regulars in some capacity.

Sorry, I edited after with their stats.

Even Cassels seems to be on a purple patch. 9 points in 26 games.
18 points in previous 133 games.

Progress & development for players is not linear. Some players take longer some don't.

That is obvious. Prospects are basically about comparables to try and predict. Like the Pcs models and such. Seal scoring rates. Nobody knows exactly how players will turn out. In the end it shows promise that those two players are on a good pace for the type of players they are and being undrafted.

As I said "hopefully, someday they can be NHL regulars in some capacity"

I haven't watched any Utica games or highlights. Could be increased minutes thanks to the 11 injuries that Utica has.
