Canucks need rivalries regardless of how well they are doing in the standings. We’ve had good rivalries with the Wild, Avs, Blackhawks, etc. but those rivalries die quickly. Too bad because those kind of games make meaningless games interesting. They give a reason to watch during lost seasons.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around this because I just cant fathom Vancouver winning 3 cups in 6 years; but I think the expectation from Hawks fans is that management cannot let up on being competitive, same as every other team. Seabrook getting paid for past performances is a lot like Burrows did and I am sure Bowman loves his core like Linden loves the Sedin's; which is probably very frustrating to those that think they should retool.

IMO winning is great, it gives you more benefit of the doubt, but there is still an expectation to make good decisions without blindness that comes with past success
