We definitely had a better team this season. Bubble team I think.

The usual suspects on here will always swim closer to shore when this team is torn apart by injuries. Horvat was having a incredible run and we hit rock bottom after losing he and Tanev. Sutter and Dorsette were playing playoff hockey...

Then of course we have Brock Boeser who is having a tremendous rookie season that exceeds even the highest standards.

If you think back a month... there was a lot of grumbling coming from the usual suspects. You could sense the disappointment that the team was showing signs of evolution with a young hot #1 line and almost every game win or lose was very close... then the excitement peculated when the tipping point on the injuries happened. All the old arguments(which many have little to do with what happened to the Canucks this season) get paraded around. Smuggness.

Even though the win percentage was only slightly higher this season then previous couple. I noticed a tremendous difference in the wins and loses. Certainly still lacking things that keep them from being competitive past the TDL. In time though.

I knew you'd like it. Don't think JB will pick him, he seems to pick need/position in the first round so I think D or wing as Center is in pretty good hands. Wish he would though, woulld be a great problem to have. Move Brad yto the wing and have him protect Pettersson

Why did you fix that? Dahlin didn't get an assist.

Edit: I went back and viewed the scoring line they posted and it did have Dahlin but I don't know why because EP passed it across to Nylander who slap pass to Andersson for the tip in.

Team toughness is lacking right now. Having Gudbranson and Biega help that. So does MDZ.

Brady Tkachuk could certainly help with that. So could Jett Woo and Noah Dobson.

I wouldn't go out and get it if I were JB and hopes more that they come upon it. Example JG type player falling to where they are comfortable drafting at. Trading for it not a good idea either.

Pettersson and OJ, they sure aren't going to run or hit anyone to hard, I doubt.

Gado will help in the toughness department.

MDZ actually hits a lot compared to many of our players and he doesn't hold back. I was pleasantly surprised by this among a couple of other things.

I think we need a Dman. Juolevi has been underwhelming for me so far this tournament, almost a little sluggish and hesitant defensively. He's been good offensively but doesnt seem dynamic enough to be the true offensive guy which is a bit disappointing for 5OA.

Pronman from the Athletic has been doing a daily blog and had this to say about him:
I don't think Juolevi is going to be the high-end guy I thought he could be when he was 17, but he showed good vision and made a lot of good decisions.

I don't think it makes much sense for the team to hire a person seeing at the moment Jake s the only PF. He could hire a trainer for that himself. I think if players like Lind Gadjovich make the team in a few years Jake will feel better as a group. Currently he is the only player that could lay out a big hit without blindsiding .

I've only seen him vs Canada in the first game. For me, he's like Vantel said he's Tanev. He isn't going to knock your socks off offensively or physically but he's going to be steady game in game out on the back end. He's going to make a good pass to exit the zone, you won't get sustained pressure. I believe he has a bit more offensive instinct then Tanev. Maybe not a top pairing guy at 5OA as most would hope for but certainly could have a bright future.

So if Vanek isn't moved this TDL, are we all on the same page of JB getting fired?
- neem55

No I want to keep Vanek lol - but if we can get a 2nd he has to go

If Tanev didn't get hurt so much I would want him to stay but he gets hurt way too often.
- VANTEL

and with age could come even more injuries.

I'm all for moving him for the right return.

EG decision needs to be made. Not sure his value to other teams, but if he resigns here, it won't be at much of a discount or short term...
