Funny you saw it's (frank)en stupid but I remember it's literally what some wanted at that time. They wanted younger, faster and it was going to be better no matter.
- manvanfan

People wanted younger faster bigger because they got tired of looking at the same team year after year. It needed to start changing back in 2012 , it was years later they began.

Fans have a learning curve too. I know I wanted to see new faces and then seeing what happens when they are brought in too soon we learn that is not the way to go.

not at all, just hoping if Tanev is moved it is because the return is better than what was offered for Gudbranson.

and I'd expect whatever Gudbranson is signed for, it will be considered an over payment, so I guess I would hope there isn't any ntc clause in the new deal.

expecting some disappointment, just not a total feckup.

If Tanev didn't get hurt so much I would want him to stay but he gets hurt way too often.

Moving Tanev then does create a major hole in your top 4. The pick or players unless in the NHL already could never turn out to be as good as him. Could spend the next 6 years waiting for another player of Tanev's quality.

Wouldn't fans here be shocked if Tanev traded and Gudbrandson signed
- VANTEL

I'd be much happier. Sign guddy to two years and hope he improves. Sell high with Tanev bring back another first, sign guddy low due to his play and if he improves trade him later. We hhave time as a rebuilding team. He doesn't have much if any value in a trade, no point in selling low.

Team toughness is lacking right now. Having Gudbranson and Biega help that. So does MDZ.

Brady Tkachuk could certainly help with that. So could Jett Woo and Noah Dobson.

I wouldn't go out and get it if I were JB and hopes more that they come upon it. Example JG type player falling to where they are comfortable drafting at. Trading for it not a good idea either.

Pettersson and OJ, they sure aren't going to run or hit anyone to hard, I doubt.

So if Vanek isn't moved this TDL, are we all on the same page of JB getting fired?

Well trade freeze is over and Guddy is still here. Tanev was a game time decision and pulled

I would be shocked but maybe a Tanev trade is in place and waiting for the other team to move parts?

Appears to be a crybaby. Not sure we need that here going forward.

I'm not big on the Russian hate like you display but I do agree with this. He comes across like he feels way too entitled. I'd love for him to work out but he has demands that don't fit in well with the rest of the team... he made it clear the city of Van disgusts him, he mumbles way too much about this treatment in Van after he gets special treatment... I think it's best to trade him.

guess hes really gone downhill the last fews years then.
perhaps he'd be better if he got out of ottawa

- SMBDragon

He also has a rep for being a bit of a cancer as well and is old. In fact, all this makes me wish he was still on the Leafs.

It's not just about fighting. MDZ leads the team in hits by 26 and is second in hits per game behind Biega.

I like Lefty's sarcasm. I can also see why I know 3 people who don't come here anymore literally because they find Nucker so annoying.

I'd prefer it. He somehow turned Burrows into a 2nd rounder, don't think he'll be able to do that with Guddy. Tanev should be a 1st and prospect I'd think. I like him grooming the young D, but would love that kind of return and let Edler lead the D. I know that's not popular, I'd rather see Edler go but he's tough to move.

I did not know that, fair enough! I actually like MDZ and like him a bit more knowing he hits more than most.

Don't be too sure

Lots of talk about wondering to keep Vanek. Carol even touched on it.

Trade him then resign him and trade him again. That is what I'd do.

Isac Lunderstrom not getting much love. Same pace as Lias andersson in the SHL who was taken 7OA last year.

Evan Bouchard second in OHL D scoring. Highest for Draft year. Size, RHD and he's 26OA

Example of last season. They started 4-0 and took until January to win 8 games in regulation or something. This season they won their 8th game in regulation like 15 games earlier. It took like 25 games last season to score 40 goals but this year it took about 15 game to score 40 goals. (all of those are just estimating when it happened).

Does that not look like an improvement from the season before? We knew before the season started that goaltending would be mediocre.

- manvanfan

We definitely had a better team this season. Bubble team I think.

The usual suspects on here will always swim closer to shore when this team is torn apart by injuries. Horvat was having a incredible run and we hit rock bottom after losing he and Tanev. Sutter and Dorsette were playing playoff hockey...

Then of course we have Brock Boeser who is having a tremendous rookie season that exceeds even the highest standards.

If you think back a month... there was a lot of grumbling coming from the usual suspects. You could sense the disappointment that the team was showing signs of evolution with a young hot #1 line and almost every game win or lose was very close... then the excitement peculated when the tipping point on the injuries happened. All the old arguments(which many have little to do with what happened to the Canucks this season) get paraded around. Smuggness.
