Of course, but Gus is way underachieving
- jcragcrumple

Girgerenko at 12 is a huge bust
Girgs at 14? Slightly underachieving

Silent sam at 2 is a bust in the making.

I think gus being drafted before "the tank" and our 2nd 1st round pick that year has something to do with the free pass. He also was 1 of our best players in 2015.

Silent sam "drafted to be a core player" has a lot to do with the hate. He hasn't been close to our best player ...... ever

He's scoring at a sub-4th line pace while playing on the 2nd and 3rd lines. He is the definition of a first round bust
- jcragcrumple

He also doesn't play 800 minutes a night, he's a bottom 6 player.

It's not like anyone wants Girgensons in O'Reillys role

again, i dont disagree but he'll see less hate because as far as this rebuild goes far less was expected of him to begin with.
- Sabresfan-365

I guess that's my question. We've seen this guy score highlight reel goals, but nothing is expected of him. Why? He should be the subject of scorn more than many others. Hes shown the ability, but he's regressed so far.

because our investment in him was a mid first rounder in 2012. bad out come yes but its not thing compared to trading legit assets for a guy, paying him first line money to be a core player and then not getting a core player out of him. that's a far greater impact on a team.

Like I said, he's scoring at a sub 4th line level, and he was selected in the first half of the 1st round. He's a bust

This is what I mean though. As soon as another player is criticized, it's O'Reilly's fault, despite him playing with the likes of girgensons

What's Girgerenko then? If girgs is a bust?

Expectations of a mid 1st round pick are low.
Look back at our sabres history , not sure if bust is the right terminology. Still feel he's a bit underachieving , not bust territory.

Just an opinion.

Rather move larson then girgs

When he gets traded to "Team X" and becomes a valuable 3rd line (maybe 2nd line) contributor to said team, many on this board will say "we gave up to soon on him or we should have kept him". See Tyler Myers, Mark Pysyk, Joel Armia, Paul Byron, Derek Grant and others for reference. The same will occur with Reinhart and ROR if they get traded.

They're both busts. I'm just saying, he was selected 12 picks behind Reinhart, and that's really not far. Combine that with the fact that we all know he can be so much better, and he deserves way more scorn than ROR, Risto or Eichel.

Zemgus is who he is. He is NOT a highlight reel goal player. He is a broken clock is right twice a day player. Just because a player scored a few highlight reel goals (See Brad May) does not make him worthy of higher expectations because he was drafter in the middle of the first round. And just like Money. Why the hell do we blame the player? The player does not pick himself in the draft, GM & scouts do. Blame them....

#1 or #2 center is so hard to find.
Ror fits the bill.

Would be nice to have a viable center like Jt comtpter is the system . Maybe it's erod or middlestat

Asplund will be comparable to Compher real soon for us.

My point is people are quick to jump on Reinhart (rightly in my opinion. He has the ability to be better), they're quick to jump on ROR who is producing like a true #2C, whose linemates were a slumping Okposo, a third liner in Pouliot and Girgensons who has lost his game totally, and hes playing the best lines against because we dont have a checking line (shouldnt zemgus be anchoring that checking line?). They're quick to jump on Ristolainen, who plays crazy minutes and was picked 6 picks earlier than Zemgus, and they're quick to jump on Eichel (Not Even gonna go there), but 14th overall zemgus holds zero culpability for some readon

Bills might use the 2 1st round picks on o line.
Protect the future qb
I see dt, and cb as proporities.
Rb later.
Maybe another 5th round peterman.

I trust the process for the 1st time since the 90's
This past draft was almost perfect

- Boss34

You know it was Whaley's draft right?

Jack's roomie must be totally pissed that Nolan is ahead of him now, not to mention a 34-year old. I am happy to see Josefson back playing again. The little bit I have seen of him, he looks pretty good.
