the better question is who would trade for him and pay such a high cost, not only the cost to acquire but the cap hit that comes with it?

Take a team like Edmonton, they are not exactly in an excellent cap spot so wouldn't make more sense for them to look into a Saros or Hutton? Or what is the Capitals plan next year when Samsonov comes over? he wont be backing up Holtby long, and holtby only has 2 more years left so he to may become available.

Habs fans will not come close to getting what they want or expect via trade.

here is a trade that actually might make hockey sense for both teams. Price for Hanifin and Darling. I can not see the hurricanes giving anything more than that.

Also, what does my teams financial prowess have to do with anything? If you think there's an actual finance issue with the islanders you don't even know enough to have a debate. Dig a little deeper and learn what you're posting about.
