Well the intent is you can't push the goalie in with the puck to make it cross the line. It was under his pad and loose but he moved his leg into the net and puck wouldn't have crossed otherwise. Hope I'm wrong but that's no goal

I don't understand why you can't attack the puck if it's loose.

You can but you can't push the goalie into the net and that's how it crossed. He clearly pushed his leg into the net. That s the correct call

I think they got it right seeing it again. Anders stick is on the toe part of Holtby’s pad when he s trying to push in the puck.

Was 100% correct call otherwise guys would shove the goalies in all the time it also helps protect the goalie

I think the application of the rule was probably correct, but it's a bad rule. Nobody on earth will convince me that pushing the puck into the goaltender's pad and moving the pad is goaltender interference. I can understand jamming your stick directly into it and moving the leg, but not if you're getting the puck first.

I watched the replays and I agree with the call. It was a bad challenge.

I agree, but I also agree with ziggy that it seems like the Isles are frequently the victims of this type of goal.

It's not interference you can't push the goalie in to score been a rule forever

I have seen 1000 goals that weren't even thought of being reviewed/overturned where guys are poking and poking and pushing and eventually get the puck in. I don't see any difference in that one.

Again, the refs probably administered the rule correctly, it's just a fundamentally stupid one.

Loose puck is fair game anytime it's when the keeper is pushed in while he has it or it is against him. Only way to explain it is it wouldn't have gone in if his leg isn't pushed over the line. In other news barzal line matched vs ovie all period

Yea I know what you mean but that's a different scenario when it's loose and they keep poking at it cause they didn't push goalie over the line

Just so I'm understanding...

Poking a loose puck and pushing some part of the goaltender over the line = interference

Poking a loose puck and pushing the goaltender, but not over the goal line =/= interference

Is that correct?

A loose puck is fair game to whack at, that puck was under his pad and his leg is pushed over and it comes loose. If ref has better look he might have blown the whistle.

69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks - In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.
In the event that a goalkeeper has been pushed into the net together with the puck by an attacking player after making a stop, the goal will be disallowed. If applicable, appropriate penalties will be assessed.
In the event that the puck is under a player in or around the crease area (deliberately or otherwise), a goal cannot be scored by pushing this player together with the puck into the goal. If applicable, the appropriate penalties will be assessed, including a penalty shot if deemed to be covered in the crease deliberately

With all the belly/fupa you have to climb up under to find them, it's more like one of those two-man submarines like the one Bob Ballard found the Titantic and Bismarck in.
