for comparison Gardiner is 291-284 ..on some pretty bad leaf teams

Ristolainen doesnt really feel a leafs need either right now.

I disagree, he can take a lot of the pressure off of Hainsey and Zaitsev.. Whenever, one of those two gets a penalty are you comfortable with their PK?

he can provide a net-front presence unlike Gardiner, Rielly, or even our savior Connor Carrick

I wouldn't do the trade if it involved one of the big 3.. (frank), if they could somehow get Ristolainen without moving any core pieces, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, Zaitsev, Kadri or Andersen.. I would be all for it.
