+/- is admittedly a garbage stat. But since Risto joined the NHL, he's a -84.
The next closest guy on the Sabres over that time period.... isn't close at all. It's Tyler Ennis at -62.
There isn't anyone worse for this stat on the Sabres. |

U never know lol
Wise to try when a UFA after the season.
Losing assets atm is tough at this stage.
Our need for offensive D is a priority. |

McCabe should not cost that much.. Maybe Kapanen and a 3rd rd pick..
I think, if Ristolainen is the target then they may have to include Liljegren, Kapanen, this year's first rd pick and a top forward like Connor Brown.
but we don't need more LHD - PatC80
I assume you are talking about McCabe because Risto is a right hand shot. |

I doubt Nylander could tie Risto's skates when it comes to playing D.
Did you really mean Nylander? - Garnie
Yes. I also only used Nylander because he was directly mentioned as the piece going the other way.
Substitute pretty much any Leaf, past or present, living or not... and they'd probably do a better job playing the Leafs' blue line.
Risto is poop at D. |

Can't we keep Gardiner and still make the deal. Less ice and less comp would make him valuable for us. |

i think buffalo gets a decent return for kane. 1st, good prospect. maybe another small piece.
from someone like the kings. not us. - Tumbleweed
I would agree, he's way better than Hanzal for sure and Arizona got a boat load for him last deadline.

He was brought in too early, should have spent a year in the AHL to develop but the Sabres were in need of help. That wasn't the best move for his development. He could have used a great D partner to help him. |

I don't agree but who cares....if I was Buff I wouldn't trade a bag of pucks to the leafs unless I was getting a great steal.

I could see Minny making a move for Kane.
1. They could use a LW talent that pushes Niderreiter down to the 3rd line.
2. I've never been but I'm going to assume, based on what I've seen in Fargo, that Minneapolis/St-Paul is probably one of the most boring big cities on earth. - TheMussel
I can see NYI going for Kane.
They have 2-1sts 2-2nds to offer up. |

The last player i can see the Sabres moving are their top D. For Leaf fans Ristolainen would be great but don’t hold your breath. - Nighthawk

Honestly it’s a pretty decent idea. Couple people tossed idea around earlier but doing something similar with Tavares. Give him 1 year at 14 million, then negotiate after for a new contract.
The only downside would be if Tavares was to get injured on that 1 year contract and wasn’t able to cash in after that. - bryant
If there was a percentage less than zero, that would describe the chances that Tavares signs a one year contract. |

Look at that shot suppression. LOOK AT IT.
I don't doubt that he's a good PP specialist... but he's the furthest thing from what the Leafs need. |

I agree. That is terrible stat to judge a player on. Since 2013-2014 season the sabres have been outscored by 299 goals. It is pretty tough to have a positive stat line when you play half the game. |

JB goes for the PO’s every season.
Its a goal but fluid as well.
Always have the TDL to change gears if the writing is in the wall. We have good prospects & that will continue anyways. |
