O'Reilly is pretty good.

Overpaid.

But pretty good.

- Scabeh

I would imagine he would like to come here - for the endorsement opportunities.

I mean, he could probably get a deal with Tim Horton's...

Whoops.

How do I delete this post?

So let me just make sure I am following your "logic."

Josh Gorges didn't want to come to Toronto, because they finished with 84 points that year - clearly he was too good for that poop-bag of a team.

Instead, he opted to go to the Buffalo Sabres - a team that had finished with 52 points.

I feel sorry for you, Symba. You obvious hate of all things Toronto: the Leafs, the Argos, traffic congestion, TFC, lack of any proper thought on subway expansion, stealing Montreal's film festival, stealing Montreal's comedy festival, Blue Jays and Toronto Rock has rendered you incapable of a coherent post here on Hockeybuzz.

Good day to you, sir.

- Atomic Wedgie

Actually, Toronto has not yet "stolen" Montreal's comedy festival.

And Gorges didn't want to go to Toronto because after playing for the Habs for years, he couldn't picture himself playing on that team.

A true warrior.

With a horrible end.

Ristolainen is very overated imo

I dont get how you can think he would be a good option for the leafs
Ice time and points on a poop team is what mib is basing this value off (according to the blog)

I would be very surprised of the Leafs had any interest in Ristolainen..the cost and what you get is not worth it

Teams are calling Buffalo, inquiring on Chad Johnson and Robin Lehner. Just checking on availability.

agree, Leafs already have Kadri, comparable player, better scorer, not as good on draws, makes $3 million less (cap hit) a year. And O'Reilly signed for 6 more years. Puke of a contract, Buffalo and Edmonton sure like to overpay.

Would be no surprise if traded. Might see a replay of the tanking for McDavid, when every goalie with a save percentage above .850 was traded. Maybe they can get Bernier, that should help their chances. Also rent Hossa's jock strap for a month or two. (frank)en tire fire.

In Edmonton's and Buffalo's defence, they have to overpay.

Same as the Jays and Raptors.

If you aren't an "A" destination, you need to overpay.

Having said that, O'Reilly's contract is awful. $7.5 milly cap hit for about 20 goals a year? For five more years after this one?

Ewwwwww...no thank you.

there is not one player worth trading for on Buffalo - not one! Only interesting piece would be their first rounder this coming draft.
Eichel for $10 million is no bargain - needs to visit the Wizard of Oz to see if he can spare a heart.

I think management is going to spend assets to move Moulson and Bogo (at the end of the year), and let Gorges contract end, which will free up about 14 million.

Probably will trade Larsson and Girgensons before the deadling, and try Evan Rodrigues at 3C.

I personally doubt Risto, Scandella or McCabe get moved, although if there were one big name to go, i think it would be Reinhart or Okposo, but on the latter, the sabres would have to sweeten. So yeah, probably another year or 2 of this crap, but not a total tear down

Yeah no way you get Risto. The cost will be crazy high. All the negatives on him have been proven to be false playing with Scandella. He solid number one defense man in this league. The sabres cant afford to trade him.

I think if leafs will be looking for Dman then maybe McCabe would be a good pickup for them. He is solid player and would not cost the house for him. Before the vatenan deal, dman were going for crazy high price. That being said i still think it would cost kapenan and Mcdemott for McCabe.

I know this is all rumor but I think we can bet that Lilfegren will not be part of any trade. MAYBE Dermott
- cragar77

Pretty sure Lilybust would be added if need be to get Risto. JMO

Okposo is already at that stage after 1 season

there is almost no players worth their UFA deals..its crazy how most never work out well and a large chunk of them are after 1 or 2 seasons
