So if someone gets hurt on the PK we now only put out 4 guys to kill because they have not done it...You win! Coaches cannot do anything to help improve a team either in practice or during a game. Just stand there... I'm all about it!! Good for you!! - Konalover
The only forward who has spent time regularly killing penalties that didn't today is Giroux. Do you honestly think not using Giroux on the PK cost them the game? How about on defense?
Again if you want to put some of the criticism on the coach, fine but actually make a reasonable point other than just cliches . I'm asking you to back it up and you're just responding with more hyperbole.
The Flyers actually had a PP goal goal scored against them because a player mouthed off to the ref from the bench. Where is your criticism of the player, or any player for that matter. |

Holy, Brayden Schenn just did it again with a sensationl overtime goal against the Canucks. 15 points in the last 7 games and broadcast crew is unanimous that Schenn is the best offseason acquisition by any team this year and they wonder what the Flyers were thinking?? Everything I have said all along just got backed up buy all the so called hockey gods. Suck it up Hextall because you totally blew it. I know MJL will defend you but common sense prevails. |

No no I agree with you they are making millions and do not need a coach for anything...I converted to your thinking. All good brah! I officially will never ever bash the coach cause his players are making millions and they don't need him.
As far as your question I'd kick Ghost in the nuts.
PK i never said change a system mid game you did....I said mix up personnel not a tough thing to do.
But again, I'm officially in your camp #coachesdontdopooptohelpateam - Konalover
I respectfully disagree with you both. The coaching issue is not a game by game thing. It is what a coach does from day one to bring these guys together as a team and to teach team discipline as a group. If a player no matter who he is continues to be a problem he should be sat down for a game. Hakstol has no control over this group because he has not instilled any system in the team and they continue to act out individually. This is on the coach and only the coach. I learned this as a young fellow and I will never forget the message I got from a great coach. I am the teams big homerun hitter with the bases loaded and I am aching for a grand slam. I look down to third and I have a bunt signal. I have never bunted in my life. I get two strikes on my and look down there again and he has the bunt signal on with two strikes on me. I lay down a perfect bunt down the first base line and the runner scores from third and the bases are still loaded. If I had have ignored him and hit away or even hit a grand slam he would have benched me. Very important team message and it too me a few years to really understand that the team is more important than the super star player. Dave Hakstol should have learned this lesson. Mike Babcock has all his players on the same page and will not tolerate the stuff Hakstol tolerated day in and day out. |

Brayden Schenn is the equivalent of a literal god and if any of you say anything negative about him I will personally hold it against every single person on this message board for the rest of eternity. He is the peak of human evolution and one day we will all realize that Hextall is actually incredibly incompetent and only traded Brayden in an unsuccessful attempt to usurp the throne. Little did he know that Brayden would only learn from this plight and come back one million times stronger. Now we can only bow before the might of our new god. Let the heavens rain fury upon those who chose not to recognize the one true leader of our free world, for he will guide us into a new era. He will make us soar on the wings of a golden era. |

I think you should seek therapy for your obsession.
With that being said there were many discussions that were had on this board on the Brayden Schenn trade. Many correctly thought that it was a trade done for the future and that the Flyers undoubtedly gave up the best player in the deal. Until we see the impact that the players selected with the first round picks, we truly won't know the final outcome. Getting two first round picks for Schenn was an excellent return for a team building for the future that Hextall could not pass up. Personally I argued that the team would miss Schenn more than most thought. Many thought the Flyers younger players would make up for the lost offense. I had doubts about that and to this point it hasn't happened.
The reason why I'm still okay with the trade is because the Flyers are a playoff bubble team with a strong prospect base building for the future. If they still had Schenn how much better would they be? A little if he was producing here but not much more in my opinion. They miss Schenn, no doubt but he wouldn't elevate them to a top team if he was here.
I now await more of your empty rhetoric without any logical substance behind it.

Last year, Shayne Gostisbehere was struggling with his defense and fundamental play. Hakstol benched Gostisbehere for 4 or 5 games last year because of it. It seems you're the one who is incorrect.
