I'm remembering the 560 games of laziness, floating around on the ice and refusing to come to the aid of teammates if the smallest scrum started.

Remember, before the Hall trade this team didn't work at all. We had horrible defense whereas last season the defense was one of the teams strong points, especially in the playoffs.

Talbot had an unreal year.
Klefbom had a great year.
Maroon-McD-LD line (Maroon rose in prominence).
McDavid was a pure beast and a necessary ergonomic catalyst for the team.
LD was a tank.
Klefbom and McDavid weren't injured.
Sekera.
Overall development and growth of the team as a whole.

Not saying Larsson wasn't any help at all as I do see him as a prominent factor in helping the team succeed (mainly due how he has pushed the depth of the RHD down (thus allowing necessary adjustments in terms of matchups to play a significant part in the game and more options) and his ability to hold his own in a TOP 2 role), but it wasn't solely due to him, nor was he not a factor.

The biggest factor (other than McDavid... like that's just not fair honestly) goes to.................... Sekera. This guy was, imo, the most CONSISTENT and IMPORTANT defender for Edmonton and he definitely stepped it up in his 2nd year with Edmonton. As appreciated as he was, he was still vastly underrated during last year, IMO. The case can be made for Talbot, who also had a phenomenal year, but look at how this team is without Sekera... first 5-10 games this season looked like the defensive structure from the 2010-2014 Oilers.... and even now, it is still eh.

The guy berates me because I didn't apply for a grocery job store when I WAS FIFTEEN That's how this "(frank) off" thing started.

He doesn't let poop go.

You'll slowly learn that there are two people in these forums who will never let things go, in this order of rank:

1. Jero AKA Brotato AKA Larsson_Fan AKA JeroPotato AKA ..... pretty sure he has got like 5 other Alts... (been banned that many times)
2. Iggy (Doesn't hold a grudge like Jero, but he can definitely remind you of it, from time and time again...)

Yes, and Chia brought in Sekera and Larsson. This team had dog poop defense until he took over. We had success last year and now everyones attacking Chia because things aren't working out.

Not attacking, but critiquing (sure some of us might get pissed off at times and show that anger on these forums in an unthoughtful way, but in most cases, we try to answer the why). Attacking would be like what the howlers on Twitter are doing right now... asking for Chia's head on a stick.

Sekera... pretty sure select few have more info on what exactly happened and why Sekera signed with us (pretty sure it was solely surrounded by the McDavid Factor).

As for Larsson for Hall, an overpayment, but yeah, I like the trade in what it brought for each team. However, at this point, it seemed like Chia's ability in regards to negotiations started to truly show and this was highlighted by FreeLancer a few months later in a blog/post of his where he stated that Chia goes for whatever is the highest peg (if one gets knocked down, he goes for the next highest peg. Along with that ghastly video on the Seguin trade... seems like this truly seems to be the case.

In Greek mythology, when Achilles was a baby, it was foretold that he would die young. To prevent his death, his mother Thetis took Achilles to the River Styx, which was supposed to offer powers of invulnerability, and dipped his body into the water. But as Thetis held Achilles by the heel, his heel was not washed over by the water of the magical river. Achilles grew up to be a man of war who survived many great battles. But one day, a poisonous arrow shot at him was lodged in his heel, killing him shortly after.

Don't know if you're just bored or not, but great analogy to the team's current situation.

Lucic is on pace to average around the same point total as the last few seasons. Russell is tied with Klefbom in points and has a positive +/-. Maroon is exceeding last years pace. Larsson and Sekera have been solid on the blue. Strome is coming around.

Kassian and Klefbom have regressed. Sekeras injury definitely hurts. Bottom 6 not performing well enough. Definitely some issues but Chia has made a lot of good moves.

The Oilers have been an incredibly easy team to predict so far this season... I look at them play, and I know exactly what they're going to do. I think any coach doing his job can prepare very well for our team. I really think the coaching staff is our main reason for sucking so far.

I was just going to say that. With the PP and PK being so bad too. That's on the coach.

Yup... Time to implement some new systems and not be so predictable.

Some guys (McDavid, and to a slightly lesser degree, Draisaitl) are going to score points on talent alone, even when opposing players know what's coming... but that's not going to cut it for 90% of the rest of our team. They need unpredictable systems in place... When opposing players are ready for their attack, they don't have much of a chance to be successful.

I get the feeling that McDavid's brilliance has somewhat masked just how bad our team's game plan/systems are. I sometimes wonder if Todd and the rest of the coaching staff are somewhat blinded by this.

Laugh's, you're either a bored genius who misuses his talents or an unusually strange type of guy who just says random/crazy/strange things all the time and throws in a random dash of logic just to fool with us every now.

Which one is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting a read on you is sometimes impossible.

Wouldn't of drafted Barzal. Already drafted McDavid and Nuge + Draisaitl were already on the team.

What does Carlo have to do about this?

They were losing Davidson anyways. He was floundering in Edmonton and they got Desharhains who scored a huge goal.

And really? Other than Hamonic (who had a piss poor season and looks not great in Calgary), what defenseman would Edmonton have a chance to get?

Great D don't grow on trees and I'm not saying Larsson is a great D, but he helps mightly, especially with the perdiciment they had going into the 2016-17 season.

What's a perdicament?

I don't hold a grudge, I just think you're a moron. Not as much of a moron as Hallfan but a close 2nd for saying idiotic things ( the Porcino one was only one of your many 'what if?' Unicorn posts.

Also, Iggy and I are the true HB tag team champions. We call out the stupids, (frank) their moms/sisters/wives/girlfriends and leave a stain on the mattress.

Obviously I meant the last couple seasons. I was referencing players Chia brought in.

If you read the whole thing I mention Sekera's injury after.
