If Russell is in the mix, I would actually consider the deal.
However, I'd rather swap JP with Nurse. We need some elite RW prospects, especially since we lack a bag of options. Jones is looking better and better as each season goes. If we trade JP, we really don't have another potential top 6 RW other than Yamo. Not to mention it seems that Montreal needs a defender more than a top 6 player.

As ridiculous as that sounds, you are paying the two best players when it comes to their respective positions.

Right now I'm neutral, but if Chia were to bring in Price, Iggy, Larsson_Fan, and HB77 will have a new member of their club... And I'm guessing I wouldn't be the only new member. I'm thinking it would be an nWo situation, where they're flooded with new members... And rightfully so.

That contract runs until he is 38, and as you mentioned, given his injury history no team should even consider touching it no matter how good of a player he is when healthy.

Trading Russell is addition by subtraction IMO.... defense wise, you're sacrificing short-term for long-term gain and creating less of a log-jam on the left side (Juulsen is a RHD and looks to be quite a beast in his own right), offense-wise, it gives our LW side some fantastic talent and youth that we have been lacking ever since the Hall trade. However, this would probably push Pulj and Yamo up in terms of depth, which could be seen as a negative.

As for LD, idk... if he alone could fetch us Drouin and Juulsen, I'd actually consider it. He probably wouldn't unless he was involved in a bigger package.
