Nope. He started off slow but by the time they were in the thick of the playoffs he was on ice in some critical situations. Even with empty net and the Caps trying to even up the score in dying minutes of games.

I have a question, i am not an Oilers fan but can you confirm if this is true, Was Griffin Reinhart traded for a first round pick that became Matthew Barzel? If so thats brutal. Jordan Eberle was traded for Ryan Strome. Taylor Hall was traded for Adam Larsen. Sam Gagner was traded for Teddy Purcel. Nail Yakupov was traded for like a 4th round pick. I hate to say this but its almost like that 10 years of bottom of the league was all undone by Peter Charelli. Its like your organization was set back 10 years. If not for the McDavid and Draisitl drafting imagine how much further this team would be down in the standings now. Unfortunately this team has squandered its chance to build a great team through the draft. Its sad because they were the last team to take advantage of the old lottery rules and i suspect for a long time they were taking advantage of it even intentionally tanking for McDavid that year playing Hunt on there first pairing. Unfortunately it looks like Nurse is not as highly touted as once thought and they haven't drafted defence enough or goalies. They appear from the outside to not be a deep team and it appears they are where they should be. Its kind of tragic and sad to see actually. They had pieces and they appear to have squandered there chance. Imagine if they had Hall driving play on the second line. And had Eberle and Barzal in there system? They could afford them they would have had to be creative but it would have been possible. I think this is a situation of mis management and its really sad actually. I kind of feel sorry for the Oiler fan base i think you've been through enough. Yes McDavid is awesome, but imagine if you had the horses along side him.

Your GM made the stupidest move of any GM all time and offer sheeted a player that would've still had to pass through waivers after you lost your picks. Feel lucky that the league felt sorry for you and nixed the deal.
