Bill why is management so afraid to call up someone who may help or spark this team offensively? It's not like it could detriment their development, give them a few games, see if they can help. This protecting the young players is growing a bit concerning. |

Who would the Phantoms young forward that would be a significant immediate difference maker offensively-- not talking later this season or next but right now. Vecchione over Filppula or Patrick or moved to a wing ? Martel added to what is already the 3rd smallest team in the NHL or in lieu of Weal or Konecny? Lindblom assigned to the Weise role or in lieu of Weal or Konecny? |

Apparently Craig Button said on TSN that Gudas deserves a 10 game suspension. |

Right on man, Gudas is a disgrace for that kind of crap. Sanheim will get better with more seasoning. |

Once again coaching lets us down. Holding a 2-1 lead and Hakstol blows it. That was two points in the bag and they blow it. By the way Schenn three more points tonight. Schenn has 25 points, Tarasenko 22 So please do not say Tarasenko is floating Schenn. He is a real star in the making, way to go Hextall
Sick of getting shutout and blowing leads and watching Gudas chop wood is getting old. Hope he gets 30 games and bring up Morin, nothing to lose. All that being said I love our Flyers but management is brutal. |

I agree to a point Bill but Konecny is flying around and producing nothing as are most of the bottom nine. I would bring Martel up and sit somebody for a game or two, that can not hurt. You never know just like if Streit had not got hurt Gost would likely never got called up and he turned the season around. Just sayin but Martel is like a young Danny Briere at the ahl level and you never know till you try. I would reward the kid for a couple games and call him up and sit Konecny or take your pick. |

In reply to Bill:
Lindblom in for Weise sounds good for me.
Edit:
here's why, the Laughton line generates chances but struggles with finishing. So, replace Raffl with the more skilled Lindblom and perhaps they put a few in.
You then move Raffl, who has decent wheels and is very good on the forecheck, onto a line with Patrick and Konecny. That gives you a line with a good mix of speed, skill, size and grit.
Filppula can then center Simmer and Weal and you leave the top line as is. The Flyers have now scored a whopping 11 goals in their last 7 games. You can keep on doing the same old, same old or you can make changes. |

Yeah it's bad enough he's an idiot, but he also hasn't been playing that well either. At this point, I'm not going to miss him |

My observations:
- Top line again produced
- Simmonds looked a lot better. I actually didn't mind that line combo.
- Again Elliott played well. Deserved a win.
- Aafter Voracek deflected the puck out of rink in the third, I think Hackstol should have used a timeout. With the Jets having such a big lineup I would have rested the Couturier line and got him back out again for the 6 on 5.
- Gudas.....I understand it probably wasn't intentional but how many times are we going to have to go through this? This is the 2nd game this year he left the defense short.
- I know you don't want to panic but either the Flyers need to make a move or something needs to change....I understand this isn't a cup contender but this team can make the playoffs. Especially with some of the previous division top teams not being as dominate as before. |

You are right some of the previous top teams may not be as dominate however the teams that were not as strong last year are playing better hockey ( Devils,Isles) and Canes are improved. Flyers can't afford to fall far behind. Too many good teams in Metro, and this brand of hockey won't cut it

I don't disagree.
That was viscous and nasty.
That had intent to injure written all over it.

I find this whole scenario comical. This league has replay to determine offsides and goals. There are many occassions where after 5 minutes of review they cant get a call right.
Yet on something they aren't suppose to review, they get the call correct from the 8 second clip shown on the big screen in the arena.
I also had no issue with them getting the call right, with how they did. I hate video review and wish it would be completely removed from the game, but in this case, an intent to injure penalty, i am ok with it.

Only thing that may save him is the guy was almost on his knees...If the player was on his feet the optics would dictate a 15-20 game suspension with a chop like that....I don't think it was intentional, won't be surprised to see a suspension....with this league who knows?
