I think the orginization can tell him they're doing x,y, and z but at this point JT will need to see x,y,z. Keeping him in the loop does nothing to help at this point IMO . This team looks once again mired in mediocrity which isn't overly shocking. I doubt that helps Tavares sign a contract with us. If I'm Tavares and his agent I need results not Snow promising bullshat and keeping him in some kind of loop. Promises of 7 year rebuilds blah blah blah. Lets face it, Snow hasn't delivered on just about anything he said he was going to do since he took over. Not one (frank)ing thing in 11 years.

I'll bet just about everything I have this is exactly what Tavares and his agent need and I'll bet you just as much Snow doesn't deliver number 1 due to his ego and number 2 due to his complete, utter incompetence. Chances are this goes down to the wire which can potentially sink this team. It should have never been allowed to get to that point to begin with and it being in the hands of one of the most inept people to manage this team is just a bit unnerving. Oh, and by the way. The world will come to an end soon after.

well this team has cap space opening up after this season and if he is waiting to see improvement it might take till then. Remember the isles have 2 first and 2 second rounders in a very deep draft and could use them to trade for what they need, a top pair d man. Add a legit d and this team is much different idc if they use pulock and ho sang and picks if it's a really good guy like oel (just an example) if you land a player like that this team is a contender with the fire power up front. They have a ton of cap space coming up and the freedom to make moves the question is can snow do it? We know everyone hwre hates him but he did get leddy boychuk and eberle for strome and barzal beau for bust Reinhart. And the 1st person that says well leddy and boychuk were cap casualties just remember at the time 29 other gms could have done what snow did and didn't and he got them both at the same time. Yes snow sucks overall but he has shown that he can make a move and have it pay off. (Thank god Boyle, vanek, and erhoff said no to him as well)

Do you know how many times both myself and every other Islander fan has said this same exact thing? Somehow he's still here after 11 years of at best mediocrity and empty promises that he never delivers on. I can't wrap my head around the fact that both him and his buddies all still have jobs. It is mind boggling. Any other team would have fired him 5 times by now.

Totally agree. 11 years and not even a sniff at the conference finals. It's absolute insanity.

More insane then the caps who heve been decidedly better and couldn't win a second round in the ovechkin era? Theres a team that should hate life with multiole president trophies

True but at least the caps have the ability to be a cup contender every year, they just fall short against the Pens & Rags

I'd rather have their roster and fail then this make-believe crap that Snow has given...

If my team could win every year but constantly choked I'd be just as pissed. Sure you could win so could the rangers but they didn't as a fan you can say wow we made deep runs but the teams and players want cups

I get that, but at least they're in convo about getting there, all it takes is 1yr to possibly get over the hump, this team barely even sniffs the PO's, its always a close call of making or not..

He can cash in with any team albeit with one year less. There's ways to make up the difference and believe me teams will do what it takes to accommodate him if he makes himself available. Him giving snow a break with his first contract doesn't factor into this in any way.
- Cptmjl

If anything, he might be wondering what he got in return for giving Snow a break on that last contract...one playoff round victory?

Of course they do. While I'll agree that losing every year in the second round would be equally as frustrating, they still have the chance to advance. There isn't a question as to whether they'll be in the playoffs. In the last 11 years the Isles have been in the playoffs 4 times. Advancing once. Meanwhile, the Caps missed the playoffs just once in that same span. So to sit there and say you'd rather have the Isles scenario of barely making it in over hoping your team will get past the second round is asinine. You're better than that Upstate. Don't go all SES here.

As I stated previously, him doing the Isles a "solid" by taking less money makes it worse. He gave Snow money to use to improve the team and did he did nothing with it.

If JT wanted to do a solid, he should have told L & M to get me a real GM. I know it's not JT's style though.

I never said that I said I'd be just as pissed. our hurdle is the playoffs and theirs is losing every year in second round.

Bottom line if the team is winning and the team looks great towards the end of the year JT will sign. It is all about winning and always has been here. If the team is winning players will come. Never had anything to do with the arena we were in or are in. Players want to win the cup bottom line. They can be playing at the Rinx in Hauppague and as long as they are Stanley Cup contenders they would play
