In a few weeks we'll be out of the playoff picture for good. Chances are Guddy is gonna get moved. - LordHumungous
Send Stecher with him |

Yup.
This team can't score, and could potentially be the lowest scoring team in the league by year end. |

We need to sign EG long term no matter what , so he's here to protect and mentor our future Norris winner Joulevi when he comes over |

Hutton has improved, still not as efficient with the puck as Stecher. |

Thats generally how guys get paid, market value by comparisons to their peers, which is what the post was about.
Who cares what they mean to you? - LeftCoaster
I thought it meant that he was saying Gudbranson had a cup at first. |

Ben Kuzma
Karl Alzner career stats (6.17 cap%)
NHL Totals 609 GP 19 G 102 A 121 PTS 183 PIM
Erik Gudbranson career stats
NHL Totals 355GP 12G 37A 49PTS 391PIM
Radko Gudas career stats (signed last season 4 years 3.35AAV)(4.59 cap%)
NHL Totals 284GP 18G 53A 71PTS 475PIM
Brenden Dillon career stats (signed 3 years ago 5 years 3.27 AAV)(4.58 cap%)
NHL Totals 382GP 15G 45A 60PTS 353PIM
Gudas and Dillon are better comparables then Alzner.
Cap hit 75 million (may or may not go up)X 4.59 percent. About 3.45 per season. I would take him at 3.45 or even 3.6 but there is no way he is worth 4-5. - manvanfan
It will be in the LE category if we sign him with a cap hit of anything over 3 to play 3rd pairing |

haven't watched it yet, but teams and the league like keeping the fans as emotional hostages.
fans and most people will spend excessively on entertainment and less on essentials.
as B_L listed a few alternative locations, it is funny that everyone knows the league doesn't want relocation of floundering teams, they want expansion money.
so much greed. - hillbillydeluxe
remember that there IS a league imposed fee for relocation. In todays nhl it is likely to be around 150 M. Add the new jersey profits etc and should be good revenue for the league. So I doubt that is it. Id say it has more to do with screwing up details in the local / national TV deals. Not easy to fix |

i only see a couple/few players that will be around long term. the rest are just place fillers until the team actually needs "complementary" (start spelling it right people! and that means you lefty) players.
as for now, i'd be open to offers on almost everybody.
(and yes i know this is a recipe for a disastrous season or two. i'm team tank.) |

i don't see a trade until the new year.
my guess is that benning will negotiate to see how far apart they are. once it's clear that they can't work out a contract, benning will listen to offers. and unlike past years, i think (guess) benning makes a move well before the deadline.

On a serious note. EG would be quite hard to replace. Options, Luke Schenn, Jamie McBain, KB, Biega.
screwed. |

I think this might be the case as well.
When we are 12 pts out of a PO spot in January and 8 of our starters are out due to injury he ain't going to have much of a choice. |

the only thing that worries me is that the team that makes the first consequential deal sets the market place. good luck jim.
on the other hand, tdl's are trending downward in terms of talent being moved/available. teams looking to bolster their stretch drives may be anxious to get their guy.
(we've become the oilers. the most exciting aspects of the season occur off the ice ) |
