Advantage Dragon. I stand by my post and would like to read his stance on that play. He's been a good evaluator of coaches here, dispite getting made fun of for it. - Nucker101
Getting ahead of yourself on Green I think. Dragon was not on WD's case until the Flames series collapse. This far into WD's career, it was not obvious where it was going. Canucks had a strong season. Green has only had a strong start. Things can go tits up pretty quick and too many people on here wait for the media to spoon feed them their criticisms. In two months, Green may be the goat.

I am very excited that Canucks will basically have an extended training camp to get prepared for next year when they roll with the same roster straight from Penticton tournament to opening day |

But is Green incapable of knowing how to work future HOFers? It always goes both ways, if you credit a coach then credit him with both positive and negatives.
Virtanen's biggest criticisms before being sent down include effort and poor conditioning. Pouliot was prone to mental lapses (according to one article on him). Those to me seem curable by "oh man I am running out of chances to be an NHLer if I dont get my act together", no matter how many coaches tell them their issues - WhiteLie
Are you referencing the Sedins? TG has handled them very well and they are producing despite their cascading limitations.
Accountability is one thing that a player can put upon himself. Coaches play a role there too. But I don't know if you factor in not only the nuance but the effect of coaching and strategic communication.
Any player will know they are in a spot with the conditions you set up. That player can try all they want to do better but that isn't enough. There is more to a developing player then effort. The connection is made to get them to recognize not only what isn't working but also how to adjust to what and how things will work to be better. |

Sarcasm aside.... Lind and Gadjo will have a good chance to transition from summer camp into AHL. |

I'd like to hear Dragon's opinion on this, he had the balls to call out WD before any of us and was proven right in the end. He also thought Green would be a good replacement and was proven right again.
I respect his opinion even more so than Goddess Carol's if I'm being completely honest. - Nucker101

Hank and Danny out next year opens two spots.
I don't think Dahlen will come in and take Sven or Dorsetts spot. I imagine they will trade for a op 6 or sign a free agent but i definitely don't think they are bringing in 4-7 new guys.
Goldobin if he keeps scoring could replace someone this year. Gaudette just scored a few minutes ago nice roof shot |

Hmm to me they have been dreadful and I was a big supporter of theirs. In nearly an hour of power play time this year, Daniel has 3 points, Henrik 0
I am not discrediting coaching completely, I just was making the point that those types of comments come across exaggerating the effects of on ice performance, while not crediting him with the bad. To me, Green had a massive effect on Virtanen learning how to be a professional off ice, on the ice he plays the same style he always has with more consistency and Pouliot has only been here a month. Not taking anything away from him, just making a point that the credit is excessive |

Without Tanev and road trip marathon of November will test TG a lot on how he makes adjustments. It will be a great learning curve with the challenges ahead. |

Well said.
WD had his flaws but he did get a non-playoff club to 103 pts his first year…let's see if Green can match that. After WD's playoff year he didn't have a whole lot to work with but again was making some mistakes… as most new coaches do.
I still think this club will finish around 24th. Our play of late is indicative of how things are going to go for us this year IMO. |

With two TDL trades and two retirements that is four spots open. My take is they will evaluate what they have first before season ends to know what to do in the offseason. |
