Not completely directed at you, but this hyperbolic notion that coaches "know how to work ____" is hilarious to me. Yes, some coaches can get through to players better than others by communicating systems better, but saying Green is the reason Virtanen and Pouliot are better is like saying Green is why the Sedin's suck this year.
Personally I think getting sent/kept in the AHL, being traded, and getting old had more impact on those 4 guys than the coaching did - WhiteLie
If someone says it is the reason then you better damn well believe it is the reason. |

Agreed and I have been saying this for an awful long time, as have others. |

Those factors can bury a developing player without the right coaching. |

Tanev hurt again.
Good when healthy and a hard guy to replace. You guys may want to keep him if bottoming out is to be avoided. - Tumbleweed
Indeed. Trade Tanev would set us back longer than JB or FA would like. Only a top prospect D for starters would make sense. |

You must come from the old school of coaching... give me what I want and how I want it or to hell with you. Plus if I see something I don't like then you are that way forever in my mind. Tough messages have a place if delivered strategically. |

But is Green incapable of knowing how to work future HOFers? It always goes both ways, if you credit a coach then credit him with both positive and negatives.
Virtanen's biggest criticisms before being sent down include effort and poor conditioning. Pouliot was prone to mental lapses (according to one article on him). Those to me seem curable by "oh man I am running out of chances to be an NHLer if I dont get my act together", no matter how many coaches tell them their issues |

Expiring contracts will be on the trade menu for JB by TDL. Seems logical that JB's development plan probably involves the top 4 prospects to be brought in for evaluation.
Have them blend into roles vacated by trade and injury(self-induced too) where the following lines could be played out to end the season.
Dahlen EP JV
Goldy Gaudette Gagner
Then asses what off season moves should or can take effect. |
