Lol... my bad, it's hard to tell because.... well, the lhd isn't even in the picture.

So then that goal is on edler, not Hutton or gudbranson.

- Pres.cup

No matter how you slice it, gudbranson isnt doing something right here.

Either he takes the lane on the high slot with his stick or switches off with edler and takes the puck carrier. He kind of does neither.

1) Hutton isn't on the ice.

2) Wingers are supposed to cover the points, the Dorsett's job was to block the passing lane to the Duck on the edge of the frame who was at that point

3) Gudbranson was covering an imaginary player, perhaps Ben Hutton who was on the bench

- Nucker101

I fixed it.

Dorset should have the point, Edler should be checking his man behind the net, Gudbranson is actually in the correct spot.

He's not supposed to go behind the net and have both d out of the picture is he?

Dorset screwed this play up more then anyone.

But again i ask the stat nerds

Gudbranson is highly effective at keeping players away from the crease.

He turns low volume high percentage shots against into high volume low percentage shots.

Basically, in plain speak, for every potential high danger shot against that would occur with an average defender he allows 1.3 more low danger shots through.

This, combined with his start zone ratio, results in a skewed corsi for, as well as bringing down mist fancy start values he'd otherwise have.

That being said, the allowing of 130 low danger shots rather then 100 high danger shots results in around 9 goals against at low risk shooting percentage average of 7 percent compared to 18 goals against with a high risk shooting area percent average of 18 percent.

TLDR
Gudbranson sucks at preventing sits but is elite at preventing goals.

Short TLDR
Gud is elite

Edler was bad last night. Rusty to say the least. Playing with Biega 5v5 and Guds at the PK. Well those two suck and Edler needs someone better to lift him up. It was never going to end well.

Dorsey should take the man in the slot, Gudbranson can't leave the front of the net, that's coaching 101. . Come on guys you're beret than this.

He should have gone to the near post and tried to block the pass across. Dorsett should have let him know no one was behind him and told him to take the puck carrier.

Sure Edler and the Center got beat out of the corner, itll happen, that doesnt mean everyone else should stand still. The guy that score was Gudbranson's guy, you switch coverage when it is safe to do so, not vacate the most dangerous scoring area with an opponent there while also not even attacking the puck carrier

I know this is not a frequent mistake or completely evident of Gudbranson's play or abilities, but man if I was starting negotiations with his agent and he started with $5-6million AAV, I'd show him this highlight on repeat asking which $5+ million player makes that bad of a mistake

I'd like to hear Dragon's opinion on this, he had the balls to call out WD before any of us and was proven right in the end. He also thought Green would be a good replacement and was proven right again.

I respect his opinion even more so than Goddess Carol's if I'm being completely honest.

One picture (eye test) doesn't tell the whole story, for that you need stats.

I've addressed why his stats are bad and asked the nerds to look into it for me.

Lol im not saying he should leave the net front. Im saying he should block the lane of the man in the high slot. Dorsett and sutter have the points to cover as well. Gudbranson isnt doing anything here man lol

Yes, he should have gone around markstrome, but only if Dorset communicates that he's got the front and right side covered, which he didn't because Dorset couldn't even cover his man in the slot and is cheating for the breakout pass if markstrome cleats the puck on his own.

That's not true, Dragon and I started to hate WD at the same time.

I didn't like them hiring TG though. (still unsure of it once in a while).

Even bure didn't score on the majority of his shots, so what if gudbranson allowed one high Risk shot, all it means is he actually prevented 1.3 low risk shots.

Advantage Dragon. I stand by my post and would like to read his stance on that play. He's been a good evaluator of coaches here, dispite getting made fun of for it.

Top 10 draft pick who can move the puck and play the PP.

Top 4 shutdown dman who can intimidate and protect the net.

Good physical depth dman.

I feel fine with it honestly. If they keep playing well I think I'd move Tanev for a 25 goal winger and run away laughing.
