Thanks for all you have done JJ. It's incredibly difficult to have a full time job, a life and THEN write a blog for us hockey doofuses. Then having to deal with the blowback of us idiots thinking we can fix everything with one trade of Rundblad's skate blades for the 1984 version of Gretzky.

Thank you and good luck.

Been both and honor and a privilege, and as excited as I am about the new gig, I will miss it. And all of you. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Means a lot.

From the media at the practice today:
12-19-14
20-8-88
10-15-40
17-57-38

Toews has lost Saad, at least for now. Kane/Saad usually good, so should be good to see.

Thanks man! I like the potential of Saad-Schmaltz-Kane. Any word on the defense pairings?

JJ,

Thank you for all you did over the years. Greatly appreciated.

Sad to lose you here, but it is all part of a bigger journey for us all.

You are very talented, knowledgeable and entertaining. Keep honing your gifts. I can not believe that we are 7 or 8 years from the first cup. Boy how time flies. What a gift we have had as Chicago/Hawk fans.

Thankful you were here to provide the play by play and the color.

God Bless!!

Forsling has an UBI. May be back against the Wild on Saturday.

Oh ok thanks! I'm assuming that stands for Upper body Injury, but the first thing I thought of was an STD or a UTI

It does. I wouldn't rule out a STD. Or a UTI for that matter.

So now we are all wondering when the announcement is coming out on who is going to try to fill the shoes here... I vote for Wiz.

Is this you volunteering for editing duties? LBH. The content is solid, but holy hell, it can be a struggle to decipher.

My vote would be Peter Tessier. He already rights the Jets blog but the guy is great and knows his stuff. TyCam would be a solid choice too.

New-ish arrival to this site still, trying to follow as much hockey as possible down here on the other side of the world.

Cheers for the insights, updates, rumours and general chat JJ. Makes my life a lot easier knowing I can come to work and read about the Hawks for the first part of my day.

Best of luck with the new gig.

Despite restricting me from posting for 8 hours after a rather snarky comment I made during 2015 WCF I always enjoyed reading your columns. They were always intelligent and insightful. You still are obviously a Blackhawks fan but your writing was always reasonable and deliberative. Best of luck to you in your new role.

On a different note , did anyone watch or see highlights of the Tampa at Florida game from last night? Holy smokes I could not believe how empty it was. This with Florida playing their biggest rival. Almost looked like the stands from a beer league game. There can't be any way that Florida franchise can stay Florida .

What are the chances of some sort of rift between 19 and 88?Kane has been regularly improving and as a reward he has linemates that work for him moved to help out his gawky straight and narrow rightous 10.5 mill twin.My brother inlaw was at the Knights game and he said the Hawk fans behind him were talking about how the Hawks arrived late and left Vegas early as to keep Kane in check......I realize that there are Leage rules that say you must arrive in the city of your next game the day before but is there something to this?Perhaps the two faces of the franchise are tired of each other.Pure speculation on my part but this whole salary cap forced caste system may be causing some divides.
