...

You know the words in that old Kenny Loggins song, where he croaks, " You got to to when to hold them, when to fold them; you never...."

I saw that. It sounds like he has what I had and if so, there is probably a temporary colostomy bag involved for a time. Not fun stuff.

Gumper, don't worry about it.
Regardless, my post was hockey related in that there is no message board over there and it appeared to me it was Facebook-only (a mistake IMO and I provided a little background why I thought so) -- and then commented that this might be the longest HB thread ever if a new Hawk blog/beat writer doesn't write something soon since it's obvious we all want to talk Hawks but our usual spot is gone (really, except for this final thread of John's!).

Would certainly explain the out-of-character Q performance in the huddle. Disappointing that it wasn't likely 100% spontaneous based on his real feelings about the practice.
- pdx2ord

How do you know it wasn't spontaneous? I'm sure Q is just as disgusted with the team's lack of intensity as most of us are.

In the workplace, if you slack, you're gone. In modern hockey, you slack, and your boss is gone. Must be stressful for the boss to have so little leverage.

I'm happy to say I've gotten to hear Bryan Trottier and Clark Gillies perform that song. Reviews were that they were both quite good.

Totally agree with your first paragraph, but as far as the coach goes, it’s of the old saying be careful what you wish for, because with the BLACKHAWKS have behind the bench with Joel, I don’t think neither of them are head coach material, at this point, I think Joel is not the problem, and maybe it is a couple of Bowman’s recent draft picks and decisions on them that possibly could not be panning out early on.I agree with you also maybe it is time to make a trade of significance, and I am willing to bet that those discussions probably are taking place but we shall see!
- wonthecup10

I am willing to hold off on any coaching decision. I am not sold on the idea put forward that Q has lost the room. I am ambivalent about Dineen as a head coach, since I question whether he represents the same old same old issues - power play, systems adherence, motivation to come equipped to battle hard. Dineen did go to McDonough so you might think he wants to change a few things.

BUT there is the rub - does Bowman provide enough of the sort of players who will follow whatever direction a new coach wishes to implement.

Samuelson is here to teach and implore the defensemen and he is better at that at least this season. There is also the fact that Bowman needs to get more of the right players. Apparently no one wants the role of net front presence, yet this is only one issue which needs to change.

good point! I think that's the nature of all pro sports though unfortunately... easier to get rid of the coach and his contract than most players.

Backes had a case of diverticulitis, which my father had at the age of 72, and he has a junk food diet. It's hard to believe that a pro athlete in his prime would come down with it.

IMO, Bowman should be fired before Quenneville, or both of them fired together. The amount of talent that he has cast off for scraps due to the inflated No-Movement-Clause Contracts he has handed out are the real reason that the Blackhawks are now a middle of the pack team.

Just looked at the site, "SnapItUpStairs" appears to be a writer over there. Snap is one of my favorite posters on this site, on the occasions he comes here. LOVE getting his insights and will poke around there to see what else he is saying.

I've tried to do so in the past. The guy/girl is a JACKASS so I just feel like giving it back to them. That Rash has had the chance to just go away yet drops in to start sh!t and provides nothing to the conversation. And besides i cant help myself
