Bob, keep us posted on this -- w/o a message board over there, we'll be taking this thread to its ultimate limits. You'd think if HB had a new blogger for us in place, they would have posted something 1st thing today.

Going to be a lot of frustrated Hawk fans w/no outlet once the team gets down a few to Philly tonight . . .

That's because Tanner is still in negotiations with EK on compensation to handle another team blog. I hear Tanner wants more than shiny stones and pieces of string now.

i think he was by FAR the highest volume blogger.

Top 5 for sure, but in terms of pure site traffic and # of comments, I'd argue that some of the Canadian teams generate more pure revenue for the site.

Now in terms of intelligent hockey discussion and having a true following, easily #1.

JJ - Thanks again, been a reader/infrequent poster for a few years. I appreciate everything you've done. Best of luck with the new gig, I'm sure I will frequent it like I've done this place for the foreseeable future.

Got an email from the-rink.com, said they are working on some type of message board format and they hope to have it "soon". So we'll see i guess.
- BobP.

that's how websites get people to keep coming back. It's basically free new content every time someone posts. It's a miss for them to not have it up on the first day because most of us would be over there right now commenting on JJ's preview but here we are.

Now let's see if Hockeybuzz will react quickly enough with a new blogger making a fist post. Now's their chance to keep their followers since the competition is slow to provide the forum. The clock is ticking...

There's no message board on the site as currently set up..that was the first thing I noticed this morning. John does have a preview for tonight's Flyers-Hawks matchup...
man this is bizarre - posting a link to John's game day preview to his former blog...yikes

Come on Phil, jump in! We need another person that is going to tell it like it is and Not be an organizational ass kiss!

On another note if anybody saw the TV clip on the BLACKHAWKS practice yesterday they did show Stan Bowman, and Al McIsaac ,Watching practice, I hope, I hope they were there looking at what they have, and going over notes, and who they can trade for a Nother top six winger and or a defenseman, I was at the Wolves game last week and for starters I sure would like Shay Theodore!

Would certainly explain the out-of-character Q performance in the huddle. Disappointing that it wasn't likely 100% spontaneous based on his real feelings about the practice.

I was surprised to see Simmonds on their 3rd line. He'd look good on Kane's line.

I don't know Pdx - I don't think Q really gives a crap about some of the FO watching practice...I think he just reached Defcon 1 - albeit early in the season.

I hope so. It was just so unusual for him (enough for all of the beats to write stories on it), that I do wonder if his boss being there breathing down his neck didn't add to the steam he needed to blow off at the team.

No message board on JJ's new blog so I guess we are staying here for the time being. BIG game tonight, regardless of final result, to start playing better hockey. I predict 2 goals from the Saad-Schmaltz-Kane line. I don't think Philly's suspect D-core can handle their speed/skill combo on that line. Over/under on how many shifts before Franson is back with kempny on the 3rd pair??

Well, it sucks that JJ is not here any more (BTW, congrats and good luck, thanks for the fun reading and interaction!).

I'm old too -- and not a fan of Facebook but if I had to guess, there is no message board per se there, it looked to me like it's all Facebook crap. I call it crap because I'm old and cranky and believe Facebook is really a bad thing for so many people. I really don't care to see someone posting about their "great life" and "great things" and all.

In my world, there is always someone that is much better off than you are . . . and even more folks that really, really, really have had some bad stuff happen to them or their close circle. I just don't want to know about either because that's not real life. Too many stories of young people (especially, but some old ones as well) that have taken someone's "life better than mine" to heart and done something bad to themselves.

I believe in real people, real voices and real interaction. Somehow, some way, Facebook is more about what's bad in this world. I need real people to keep believing there is more good in this world than not.

Good post. I'm 47, never had a facebook account or any other social media app for that matter. I'm old school, I wouldn't mind going back to pagers and dumb phones. Or no cell phones at all for that matter. When we were kids we left the house and didn't come home til dinner. That time and those days are long gone but I think those were better days because back then family was most important and people didn't know everyone elses business good or bad.[url]

Just looked at the site, "SnapItUpStairs" appears to be a writer over there. Snap is one of my favorite posters on this site, on the occasions he comes here. LOVE getting his insights and will poke around there to see what else he is saying.
