The best part is you know he had those saved up all week while he was too chickenpoop to show up after games 5 and 6. |

the best part is watching him lose repeatedly in everything he tries.
it's amazing. |

In that case the best part would be all the parts. As you say, he is a constant failure. Maybe his parents' persistent reminders of this throughout childhood are the source of all the pain which is clearly the driving force in his sad little life. |

i adore the fact that he isn't smart enough to understand that every bear picture post is just a reminder to everyone he wants to argue with that he lost the sens/leafs thing badly. |

So which top-5 pick is Ottawa giving up for their marginal 2C upgrade? |

Duchene for:
Turris + Bowers + Hammond + Jack Hughes
Sweet deal. |

Maybe they’ll admit they need to tank, and give up this year’s pick, and shoot for #1 next year? |

Yeah, I guess this ownership/management group has a good history of making sound hockey and administrative decisions.

They will be a better team next year.
Chabot and White should play all year. Duchene with the team all year. Stone will likely not be injured all year. Hoffman had a meh kind of year. Karlsson is a ?? and a new young guy may make the team.
It is fun to laugh at them, but they really are not as bad as they played this season.
Next season is OK. It is the season after when they have lost Duchene and Karlsson and they have no #1 pick in the draft next year.
On the other hand... they have to actually sign Mark Stone and I don't think he is interested in a home-town discount. 26 year old first line winger with size and scoring touch... Ottawa is going to have some competition. |

They are absolutely as bad as they where his year.
The underlying stats all pointed to exactly the collapse we saw coming. This is why I was saying they were going to be a bottom-10 team this season. I wasn’t pulling a spasdopps when they were pretending famed Ottawa Senator Patrik Laine was better than Matthews. It was a serious belief based on the evidence at hand, that they would be absolutely horsepoop.
Think Duchene matches his late season production next season? Maybe, but we saw this story before with the Leafs. Remember when Kulemin was a 30goal scorer? |

Oh I remember the late season glory runs all to well.
Honestly, it is about Anderson. If he plays well, they will be much better. If we get the same Anderson as this past season, they are going to be a lottery team again, without their pick.

Yea, a goalie can make up for a ton of flaws, but relying on an aging goalie to keep pulling the team up, isn’t going to keep working. Maybe they should give the Hamburglar a chance? |

What do you think they would have to pay Colorado to get him back? |

Oh that's right! They gave him up with a top-5 pick for a marginal improvement at C, who doesn't seem to enamored with the club, and may also walk if not traded, just like Karlsson.
Maybe they can give up their other top-5 pick? Seems like a golden onion move.
