context..... if they get eliminated in the second or third round that's a very young team on the upswing with a tremendous pool of young talent managed by a group of competent personnel and coached by one of the best in the league. that's the sort of thing that could win a cup In the near future .

the sens had none of that. they were borderline playoff team barely made it mostly on shootout points, that got outscored on the season, little to no youth, zero chance at a cup, garbage management, no budget, horrible contract situation, just a garbage organization top to bottom. the fact that they ran into a couple of heavily banged up teams and won a couple of rounds doesn't change that. we all knew the Sens wouldn't win a cup. they never will with that team and that's coming through plain and clear now.

This can't be for this year. I'm pretty sure I read that the Leafs and Sens were all set for a first round matchup which would of course be the first time they ever met in the playoffs because the world is only 12 years old. Except for those Sens "Cup wins" from 90 years ago. Oh, and the Loafs 50 year Cup drought. Other than those things the world is definitely only 12 years old.

Good to get the almost won point last night. Back to back games, going up against a rested team with a strong offense, no time to acclimatize to the altitude, and starting a 3rd string goalie who had to fly in from Toronto to join the team.

Another tough one coming tomorrow afternoon. Third game in 4 days, playing in the afternoon in one of the toughest away game settings this season against a team that's been very good and has had 2 full days off. 3 - 1 Vegas.

That bodes well for the second half of the season especially considering how strong their second half was last season. Hopefully they can stay healthy as they'll need to play consistently well to keep Boston from catching them. Still some important games to play VS the Bruins and Lightning in the second half. Habs have all but fizzled out after getting that little boost after Price's return. I stand by my pre season prediction of TB, TOR, BOS for the Atlantic.

Just saw that this morning. How does bolded make any sense?

That is a bad team that is playing lazy hockey and getting no goaltending. They literally have Karlsson, who doesn't want to be there, and 1 first line player in Stone. Duchene and Hoffman are maybe top-6.

I also wondered aloud on these threads if Boucher would last the year. We all know his history. At this rate, he won't.

yes their top players aren't playing like their top players. that's a problem.
.an even bigger problem. THOSE are their top players. it's a terrible roster. so little talent.

Leafs end the calender year on a fitting note. Better than the sens even after a loss. the dawn of a new situation emerges in 2018. will d'oops and spatso remain hiding in each others vaginas? stay tuned.
