All the need to do is purge their owner, city, coaching staff and roster and they will be right back in the thick of things.
- Cape Breton Bruins

Melnyk has been the issue for a long time. But, the backlash in fan support started when he failed to resign Alfredsson. Since then fans are dropping off as Melnyk refuses to do anything other than suck the life out of his own investment.

Huge local money is sitting on sidelines ready to buy the Senators. A new downtown arena is coming on line. Melnyk will huff and puff but every month more business pulls out in their support of him and his methods. Melnyk knows he cannot move the team as long as their is a willing buyer. In Ottawa's case there are no less than 3 groups willing to buy the team. Those same groups are also willing to partner with each other to move Melnyk out and build LeBretton.

I heard that Melnyk has said he wants up to $800m (people are extrapolating from several sources to arrive at that number). My guess is he is going to get around $565m with the Kanata property sold separately at some point. Right now it is just about price. It is always about price.

This is one of several reasons that we kept reminding you the Leafs were in a better situation. Yet you decided to act like a fool and troll leaf fans over a Cinderella fluke run that we told you was neither real or sustainable. Still you came here in Sept and Oct insisting the sens would not only be better than last year but also would go further in the playoffs.

There was little to no backlash when you guys traded for Phaneuf, Brassard, Ryan, Duchene etc. Only now is it an issues when the reality has sunk in.

You can blame Melnyk for everything but it goes deeper. Too much future traded. Last two drafts saw the sens pick 9 times in total. This draft they only have 6 picks and none in the top two rounds. The last impact player they drafted that's playing for them is Ceci in 2012. If you're not constantly producing young solid cheap talent through the draft it's near impossible to succeed.

You, Melnyk, the sens and phaneuf all deserve each other.

The players are quitting on their 3rd or 4th coach. Lots of character issues within that organization.

Oh how you and Dopps laughed and laughed and laughed and talked about winning your shiny new 28th overall pick that you promptly threw away.

You just ignored everything Leafs fans talked about when looking at the big picture of "who is in a better position".

Now, when your team sucks, you start blaming it on all those "other" important points we made.

Sadly... your team is poop, your farm team is poop, your fans are poop, your owner is poop and every point Leafs fans made is true.

Hey, maybe the Sens can turn it around and maybe White and Chabot will be the leaders of a Stanley Cup championship team, once you lose Karlsson and Duchene.

laughed and laughed and laughed

I suppose you never talked about your glory run, as a result of which, you were awarded the illustrious 28th overall pick. It was a great accomplishment and definitely not a fluke.

Spatso assured us that the coach, and Cody Ceci's mom BOTH felt that the Sens would go even further this year.

I wonder how you will view the draft pick, the leafs will be awarded after they are eliminated from this seasons' playoffs?

I will view it in the context of an organization that hasn't given up, and a team that has a future both on the ice, and in the city in which they play.

I just picked a page from the Leafs Vs Sens thread... 1004

Found this gem

I think you need to look at just how strongly the Sens are dealing with the short term problem of having to start the season without the planet's very best Dman in the line up. We are very pleased. We are especially pleased by all the young guys stepping up. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Leaf fans saying same things they have always said. Sens fans knowing the real conversation starts in December. This year the Leafs will be part of the discussion. But they will lose a game before the season is over.

Page 1013 was a rare page where Garfingsince stopped by to rescue Spazzd'oops for part of a day. So I had to pick another page, 1041

Still does not change the fact that Sens and Leafs will meet in the first round of the playoffs unless the Leafs have a second half collapse?
