I listened to the Doreyon interview on the way home and I rolled my eyes so hard when he said this...and it looks like Turris' wife did also lol

these Sens are so much fun right now in a plane crash, tire fire, semi off a cliff sort of way

Sorry for not posting. A combination of events about a month ago provided me with some insight into the overall direction of the Sens. I am sworn not to share what I know and have the same info from two different sources.

Yet I have no guarantee that what I have been told will actually happen. Waiting for information has caused me to lose focus on the western swing.

i suspect the players have some insight into what is happening and it has had some impact on their focus as well.

Does it have anything to do with the rumour swirling around in Montreal, saying that a group headed by Paul Desmarais and Guy Laliberté, is going to buy out the Sens from Melnyk ??

If this is your response. Why bother.

You do know that completely fabricating stuff that Leafs fans supposedly said, doesn't actually make your team any better right?

Pretty futile stretch of games for the Leafs. They've really been Sensing it up lately. Looks like some of the concerns raised by Leafs fans around here are being brought to light.

On a totally unrelated note, I'm sensing a great disturbance in the the Derp. As if some dark power of idiocy which had been silent for a good month or more has reawakened. I'm sure the recent results of the Leafs and Sens games are merely a coincidence and this reemergegence is not just some yellow bellied, lily livered, chicken poop troll job.

i dont know what this photo is. possible explanations to this photo:

1) they look like they're acting like they won the cup. did they win the cup? maybe they just won the cup. they seem to be very good at acting like they won a cup.

2) was this from tonight? are they doing the end of season thank you? seasons over for them right?

I will say that Melnyk and Bettman said the exact opposite things about the Senators over the last 24 hour period. Bettman expressed surprise, disagreement and irritation about what Melnyk had said.

LeBretton is the key. The project is huge. Local money wants to be a part of the move forward, Desmarais wants to be a partner and a third overseas interest has become a serious player. Nobody wants to partner with Melnyk.

Speculation on my part, I think Melnyk's posturing is simply about price, not final outcome.

I am guessing that Melnyk is trying to create a bidding war between the interests but they may be more interested in working together on the overall project. Important to keep in mind Sens are just a small part of the project.

I believe Melnyk has been offered similar money as what Las Vegas paid as a franchise fee.

Speculation on my part, but I have heard from multiple sources that every option involves a Shanhan type management model with a highly regarded recently retired Sens player becoming the executive face of the hockey part of the organization.

I got burned a few years ago when I said Melnyk is broke and he is a liability to the Senators future. I believe he would already be long gone but LeBretton has caused him to hang on hoping to squeeze a little more juice out of the opportunity.

He now knows that he will never get the LeBretton bid. We are watching his being educated to the reality of the moment.

Record 32+ minutes played in an outdoor game for EK. What a horse this guy is. I think his recent slump is just a byproduct of the managerial mess and the mental distractions that come with that. I'm sure he regrets the timing of his earlier comments but the guy is a beast out there. I sure hope I'm right in saying that he breaks out in a big way soon. I just picked him up in a fantasy pool trade!

The NCC named Senators owner Eugene Melnyk’s RendezVous LeBreton group as the preferred candidate to build up LeBreton

It gave them the inside track to negotiate a final deal. There are no public reports on how negotiations have moved. But the noise around them suggest that Melnyk does not have the financial capacity to deliver on the development and everyone is running away from the idea of partnering with him.

How can you say "There are no public reports on how negotiations have moved" and in the next breath say "But the noise around them suggest that Melnyk does not have the financial capacity to deliver on the development"?

The NCC is reported to be giving an "Update" on Lebreton Flats within the next few weeks, concerning the clean up of the soil at Lebreton FLats, and who and how the clean will be paid by.

the mere fact that Melnyk is saying that a move to LeBretton may not happen tells you aomething about the stall. More important, Bettman says two things Saturday night.

1 The Sens are not moving.

2. Buyers for the Sens have approached the league office but they are not for sale until Melnyk says they are for sale.

Those are not conflictingmstatements. There is an impasse. I am feeling better about the Sens situation than I have formseveral years.
