Totally agree. But do you want Dorion in charge of such an important deal? And will the current ownership really want to do this if the rumours of the team being for sale are true? I guess a lot still hinges on the downtown arena deal.

I think D'oops needs to recruit all the Sens fans who have "Alfie" in their name to help with this thread. At least one of the Alfie's still manages to chirp the Leafs somehow. It's so cute.

Do you mean delusional like all the leaf trolls, for the past 12 seasons, tried to convince themselves, that even with the Senators constantly finishing higher in the standings, making the playoffs (16 times in the last 20 seasons) ........ that still the leafs were better, because they were selecting higher in the draft(s)??

Difference between the Senator fans who post in this forum and the leaf trolls, is we know when to call a spade, a spade.

The Senators returned from Sweden, sitting fourth (in points) in the Eastern Conference, with a 0.656 P%, which was better than the leafs record of 0.638 P%.

Today, one month later, the Senators sit 15th in the Conference.

29th in goals for
27th powerplay %
25th pk %
27th in 5 on 5 goals for
28th in shot attempts

There is no way any sane person could spin this, like the leafs trolls have for over 12 years, as being better than any team ahead of them in the standings.

Sens need to give up on this season

What a season for the Sens, trade futures to "upgrade" on Turris.. like wtf they gave up a 1st.

now its time to think about the future? ...what a time to be a sens fan

Just a colossal miss by the GM. they could have waited this season out and if it still went south with Turris, just dealt him at the deadline for a good return while keeping the 1st, 3rd and Bowers.... 3 futures..while adding a couple more

Now they could still trade Duchey but what terrible optics if they do

Interesting thought

Would you trade Seth Jones as part of a package to get Erik Karlsson? Jones is 23, 5.4m/yr til 2022 Karlsson is 27, 6.5m/yr til 2019 3 extra yrs of team control, 4 yrs younger, no injury history. Plus you give up more assets. But you get the best dman in hockey for 18+ months.

Once again, D'oops.

Show evidence of this.

I get that you are salty that the debate is clearly not even close, in any way, and that your star player is clearly disinterested because he wants to be on a better team, in a better situation...

but if you have nothing, then don't make stuff up. Just leave, in shame, like Spatso.

Kyle Turris speaking in Vancouver on the end of his time in Ottawa: “It’s tough because I think management did want to sign me, but I think that the owner didn’t. And that was his decision.” #Predators #Senators

i cant stop reading stuff people are saying about the sens

@Jibblescribbits
Q: Which NHL teams are set up most poorly for the next 3 year span?
Ottawa's got to be the worst, right? Duchene trade is looking like a catastrophic panic move for them, imo

that trade was “delay our cap disaster for a year maybe” for Ottawa. Horrid

I can't see a way out for them other than "burn it all down"

J.R. Lind‏Verified account @jrlind

I think that’s it, but in that case, why even bother with picking up Dutchy

JingleScribells

I bet they trade him at next deadline

Chris Hopkins‏ @CLHopinator

How soon do we start entertaining the idea of the Ottawa 1st we got for dutchy being a top 3 in 2019?

the leafs gave up 2 1sts and a 2nd for rfa kessel.

sens gave up the equivalent of 2 1sts and turris for a guy who will be a ufa in 1.5 years.

To be fair to the Sens, I'd offer the following trade:
Stone
For
Martin and a 4th

The Sens get a player under cost control for 2 more years. X

I listened to the Doreyon interview on the way home and I rolled my eyes so hard when he said this...and it looks like Turris' wife did also lol

these Sens are so much fun right now in a plane crash, tire fire, semi off a cliff sort of way
