I think your leafs allow a few more shots per game, than Ottawa does.
- D0PPELGANGER

statistically don't teams holding the lead give up more shots?

that's why they score adjust those things. I wonder if they run aggregated score adjusted shots against.

Maybe games don't matter until January now?

i think its shame. d'oops is ashamed of the results and his less than desirable situation the sens find themselves in.

gone is the cocky arrogance...

It's a silly thing to be ashamed about. He's just another fan of his team as we are of ours with no control of the decisions being made. It's not his fault that the organization had been horribly inept from top to bottom for such a long time, only fluking its way to the illusion of semi success while truly being mediocre to horrendous at points. We've seen that in our own house as Leafs fans. The difference is we recognize and accept that status if its the truth and won't run from the conversation like cowards.

Shame is warranted no doubt. But it should be shame about being unabashedly obdurate in the face of the facts. Shame for constantly trying to deflect, obfuscate or outright fabricate when confronted with the uncomfortable reality of the state of the Sens. And failing miserably at every turn while doing so. Shame at the constant pettiness of trying to belittle the city of Toronto as a whole by going out of his way to not capitalize proper nouns. Shame for attempting to tarnish an entire fan base of literally millions for the words or actions of a minuscule few. Shame for consistently demonstrating behaviour that I wouldn't accept from my elementary school age child. And shame for not being man enough to own up to any of it so that we can all move on.

Post of the year

Leafs fans can well appreciate that phenomenon where fans' intelligence and knowledge is somehow reflected in the team's performance. Chicago fans are among the most arrogant on this site.

I think the hilarious part is that I was all ready this year (still ready) to admit that the Sens are the better team *now*. In fact, I think I did.

Now, that isn't true at the moment, but it wasn't particularly traumatizing to think I may have to admit I was wrong about my assessment of a sports team.

If people weren't wrong ALL THE TIME, there would be no Las Vegas.

If the Sens were smart (Dorion so far does not seem smart)
they would trade Ceci while he has value, do what the Leafs did with Schenn and not what the Sens did with Cowan

Precisely. I've seen occasional posts by these guys bordering on cogent but they largely get drowned out by all the irrational hatred and derp.

i feel like chiarelli is going to bail the sens out by doing something like trading klefbom for ceci.

But those two players were useless. Ceci was the best prospect before Chabot was drafted.

Thank you. It's an odd thing which can, IMO, be attributed largely to tribalism. We're all prone to it in various aspects of our lives. It's very pronounced in sports and politics in particular. The rational ones rise above it more often than not. The more feeble minded take the route of sophism.

chabot looks like he could turn into a decent nhl player.

sens farm system is pretty much dry after that.

Perhaps he will be. I don't wish him ill. I just find humour in hollow hubris.

Why exploring an Erik Karlsson trade makes sense for the Senators

this is actually an interesting read.

The 1998 Caps and 2008 Stars as examples of teams that had success in the playoffs one season (unexpectedly) and made moves to get better the next season and missed the playoffs
