leafs have a horrible mess trying to pretend they are playing defense. It is going to get a lot tougher the deeper we go into the season.

Now that the Leafs areback playing Leaf hockey I find it kind of sad. It is good for hockey and team rivalies to have all teams playing well. Hope Leafs pull out of the tail spin and get some help on D.

Let's see what the numbers look like when Turris no longer plays with Karlsson. Let's see what happens when Karlsson starts feeding Duchene.

You either trust your management and coaching or you don't. Boucher wants Duchene, he has wanted him badly since the beginning of last season. Is he a good fit into the Ottawa system and Karlsson...we will find out soon enough.

Ottawa never made Turris a priority. They never really pushed for a long term deal. I am a huge Turris fan but it appears that Ottawa coaching and management does not share my opinion.

Everybody just needs to be patient. We will know after 5 games how well it is working.

Ottawa is pretty strong down the middle with Duchene, Brassard, Pageau and Thompson. We know that Boucher especially like Pageau and Thompson.

Great time to be a hockey fan.

Funny to see how much butt hurt Leaf fans are taking over this deal.

It has been Dorion's dream to put an offensive centre like Duchene on the ice with Karlsson. Everybody needs to be patient. Not a time for saying dumb things that is going to open you to even more ridicule in the future.

As Dorion said this morning, the Sens are a very good team, they are going to the playoffs and it is his job to try and ensure that they go even deeper than last year.

"After a promising start (6-1), the Leafs have gone the other way (2-6), including their last three of four on the road. Since their 6-3 loss in Ottawa, they’ve allowed an NHL-worst 33 goals in eight games."

Well.......... you're on of those underlying numbers guys, right?

According to this article............. "it turns out, all the underlying numbers suggest Duchene is the far superior player, despite his basic numbers registering similarly to Turris'."

Man, you're on a losing streak today, aren't you?

now compare Turris and his point totals as a pred vs duchene and his point totals as a sen.

i want to see what far superior looks like.

man you're never on a winning a streak, are you?

It really shows that the leaf trolls are completely rattled by the upgrade the Senators have made with the three way trade ............ they can't stop talking/trashing the Senators ...... and practically never talk about the leafs, or any other teams in the Atlantic division.

So keep it up, it just confirms you're still not sure the leafs will be up to task this season, to get past the Sens.

loving it.

meaningless stat.

the only one that matters these days is games in hand. points are for loosers.

on another note, nice to see the Leafs playing good playing good defensively and anderson being solid.

Ottawa still can't find their way to a plus goal differential.

it might be a good thing Ottawa protected that 1st.
If I have this right, if the pick ends up top 10, its deferred to 2019 which is then not protected at all?

A long ways out yet but this could end up being really fun

Sens finish 9th from the bottom then get leap frogged in the lottery by Florida and Minnesota. I know it isn't realistic. Very unlikely Ottawa finishes high enough to be knocked out of the top 10.

Good prediction. I had Boston in place of Montreal before the start of the season.

Bruins and habs both with more points and a better winning % than the sens.

Any word on what it means?

it just means the sens have games in hand so they dont even need to play the games to have more points than both teams.

I didn't get to watch the game last night. I've been fighting some sort of gastro intestinal virus the past few days and feel like a sack of smashed spatsos.

What I saw this morning was a shot count that Babs will not be happy about but I'm sure he, like us, will take the 2 points and move on. Speaking of points, the Leafs are currently just a single point behind Tampa who are IMO currently the class of the league. And this is with Willy being relegated to the bottom 6, Marner mired in a goal scoring slump, and still lacking a legitimate top end defender.

Granted Tampa has 2 games in hand and since that's a guaranteed 4 additional points (at least it is if you're Ottawa) then the Leafs are really 5 points back. Either way, 2nd in the division is exactly what I expected from them. On to Vancouver to play a very surprising Nucks team.
