Ovechkin continues to own the Leafs like he has his whole career. Not a terrible effort for the back half of a back to back though.

Another loss for Ottawa but a goal for Duchene and keeping one of the top offensive teams to 2 goals are good signs.

Thought the Leafs played a good game but not good enough to win obviously. Ovie put on a show and you could tell he wasnt going to stop until he got his third. when hes on, hes crazy good.

You should listen to the Sens post game show, lots of fans want half the roster sitting, and players called up from Belleville inserted into the line up.

If he had Crosby's drive or heart, he might have had the better career. An actual power forward with that scoring touch

Leafs are not playing well enough. Lineup decisions are getting annoying at this point.

I remember reading some DET fans warning that Babshlong had a tendency to pig headedly cling to combinations that aren't working.

Ovie was playing for a kid who lost a leg to cancer. Had him in the locker room pre game reading the starting lineup to the team. Really nice story.

Leafs should have countered with Matthews playing for a child in need of a liver transplant and allowing him to do the ceremonial faceoff. Could have been the difference between between the W and the L or at least getting an almost won point. Scoreboard matters. Supporting sick kids matters more.

I've seen about 10 different line combinations in the past two games alone.

Mike has no issue with mixing the lines as we're witnessing.
Hyman Matthews Nylander
Hyman Matthews Marner
Martin Matthews Marner
Hyman Matthews Brown
Leivo Marleau Nylander
JVR Bozak Marner
Martin Bozak Marner
Marleau Kadri Komorov
Marleau Kadri Brown
Etc
Etc
Etc

omg line shuffling!!!
seriously who cares. its not like theyre changing lines by bringing in napolean dynamite and nacho libre to play with Matthews and dressing the cast of Growing Pains to fill in for the rest of the line up.

Lots of experimentation for sure but it doesn't usually last even if it yields results. Marner, Matthews, Martin comes to mind. I don't necessarily want to see that particular combination long term but it went alright that game and I think that was the end of it. Admittedly I haven't watched as closely as I would like this year.

It seems like Nylander is in the most need of a jump start so I guess keeping him with the team's top centre isn't the worst idea. But maybe he needs some weaker match ups to get the ball rolling again. If I really knew the answer I'd be working in pro hockey instead of being another schmuck on a message board.

Big picture, the 3 top forwards are all still second year NHLers and there's still 2/3 of the season to play. They'll be fine.

Ottawa has 22 points, in 22 games.

That's a record of .500

Not saying .500 is acceptable, but it's not the end of the world, as we know it ............. yet.

This 7 game in 14 days road trip is probably going to signal which way the season is going to unfold. Either a challenger for third in the Division in the last week(s) of the season....... or a lottery team.

sens didn't lose last night. an improvement.

but habs did win. passed the sens and the standings. with price playing better, it should be an easy win for the habs tomorrow night. good chance to open up a 3-point lead on the sens.

with a head to head match against the habs coming up, that point percentage advantage could be gone in a hurry.
