There you go losing focus again. Two things matter; scoreboard and standings. SENS doing great on both.
Remember the goal was to survive the first 10 games until Karlsson got back. Just hang in until they could be more competitive.
Mission accomplished.
Love these guys. They are a battlefield hostpital of walking wounded and sick players. YET They took 3 of 4 points back to back against Flyers and Devils. How can you not love their character? - spatso
Good interview on TSN 1200, yesterday, with the play by play guy for the Belleville Sens. He was asked about how Chabot has been doing in the AHL, and said he is "Uber Skilled" but is still learning how to play the pro game. Spends a lot of time with the coaching staff reviewing video and is seriously working on his weak areas.
I've heard, and talked with so many Sens fans that wanted him called up, and given a top 4 D spot, and have the Sens get rid of player X, to make room for him. These fans are idiots, who see other young D men, on other teams step into the NHL and do well .............. so logically they think anyone can.
Chabot has been told he's up as an injury replacement, and will be sent back down once the injured D man is ready to return .................. so if he wants a NHL job bad enough, he has been handed an opportunity, and if he shows he's ready, he may stick around, and take Wideman's spot on the third pairing, and get some PP time ........... if not, he's back down to develop some more.
BTW Cody Ceci was "brought up" in a very similar situation, in 2013-14, after playing 27 games in the AHL that season, and never was sent back down because he took control of the situation and showed he was a NHL player ................ so anything is possible, but if you asked me, I feel Chabot should spend more time in the AHL, and in the long run, he and the team will be better off in the long run.
Does anyone know how many games a "rookie" has to play in the NHL, to have one off his years, on his ELC "burned off"? - D0PPELGANGER
Got back last night to see the game with Columbus. Have not seen any hockey for a month except on my iPad or lap top. Not impressed the way the Sens played. Very good chance that Duchene is a bust. He started poorly and seems to be regressing.
If the Sens do not have a significant shift in play within the week they will go all in giving young guys a chance. I thought both Harpur and Chabot played okay and I would prefer them to stay in the line up.

probably should have waited before going on about their lethal offense with D0ch0n0 and how Leaf fans are jealous.

Leafs and Sens movong into solid playoff positions. They will play each other in first round. Sens have won only head to head meeting this year. - spatso

It really shows that the leaf trolls are completely rattled by the upgrade the Senators have made with the three way trade ............ they can't stop talking/trashing the Senators ...... and practically never talk about the leafs, or any other teams in the Atlantic division.
So keep it up, it just confirms you're still not sure the leafs will be up to task this season, to get past the Sens.
loving it. - D0PPELGANGER
oh yes. Definitely some fans rattled by the trade. some loving it. just not how you intended it to be.

Funny to see how much butt hurt Leaf fans are taking over this deal.
It has been Dorion's dream to put an offensive centre like Duchene on the ice with Karlsson. Everybody needs to be patient. Not a time for saying dumb things that is going to open you to even more ridicule in the future.
As Dorion said this morning, the Sens are a very good team, they are going to the playoffs and it is his job to try and ensure that they go even deeper than last year. - spatso

Hockey Central at Noon.... today, from the center of the universe
HUGE three way trade ...................... and the lead story is............ Auston Matthew's has a sore leg and he might not play vs the VGKs!!!!!!!! - D0PPELGANGER
I agree. Hockey Central at noon should be discussing Matt D0ch0n-10 and not Matthews.

Duchene is not a bust, yet.
He needs to fit into Boucher's system. If he doesn't commit to it, he will be a bust, but you won't have to worry about it for long because either him, or Boucher will be gone.
I wonder if perhaps what is happening is that Boucher's act is wearing thin. This has happened before where he looks like the greatest coach, ever, and then gets fired.
... or the Sens, and Duchene, are just going through a rough patch.

its a rough patch. theyre not going to keep losing forever. they'll put some wins together soon enough.
i dont think duchene is a bust but hes not the elite center they thought they were getting.

There's been a bit of change in the locker room since the Duchene trade, a few injuries requiring a number of call ups from Belleville and a few players coming in and out of the line up due to long term injuries .......... and they've yet to all get their act together as a unit.
Karlsson is playing below 80% of what we saw at the end of last season, and the goal-tending has been hot and cold at best ........... more cold in the last couple of weeks.
If this trend does not just around quickly, the Sens will drop out of the playoff hunt, and into the lottery.

Pick is top ten protected. - D0PPELGANGER
picks in the 10-20 range can still be solid. especially 11-14 that are in the lottery. If the sens do fall into the top ten, the pick gets transfered to next year where they may finish in the ten again, no? Not a good situation, im sure you can concur.
Leafs are not playing well enough. Lineup decisions are getting annoying at this point. - Aetherial
You should listen to the Sens post game show, lots of fans want half the roster sitting, and players called up from Belleville inserted into the line up.
