Duh. Sens won't have cap space to give him a raise.

Thanks for taking faneuph.

What do you mean? Teams are lining up to trade for Phaneuf and Ryan.

And if not, Melnyk won't mind buying them out so only some of those horrible cap hits apply.

... none of this is a concern though for a below .500 win% team with the best player on the planet, the best forward on the planet and the 2 best players not in the NHL.

Well then you would be the only person who doesn't think so. Literally every analysis I have heard says the price for the upgrade was significant.

Good lord, You Sens fans are really getting carried away.

- Aetherial

I was only talking about "the futures" (28th last spring, 1st and a 3rd).

The "analysis" you've heard may have be talking about the whole trade(not just the Futures) ..... which included Turris.

Don't you remember badgering Sens fans about "all you won was the 28th pick"??
Now you speak as if that same 28th pick is the biggest building block in the Sens future ................ well, which is it?

The third rounder was a cheap price to get rid of Hammond ............... and next years first should be a low one 25th or higher ...... who knows, does your Crystal ball know?

What would you have done different, if you were faced with a pending UFA, who made it clear during negotiations, that he was not going to sign for the money or term the Senators were going to be able to live with? Trade him at the deadline for practically nothing? Let him play out the season and walk for nothing?

It's easy to criticize, but you have a real hard time looking at the big picture, and or the long run ........... Ottawa has some big contracts coming up, and it's evident as to who they want to keep for the longer term....... and Turris was not on that list.

Once again the leaf trolls are totally obsessed with the inner working of the Senators.

Not one peep about the leafs win tonight ................... it's much more important to the leaf trolls to come on this thread and bad mouth the Sens, and the couple of Sens fans willing to give their perspective on things, from their POV.

Funny how that it is ................. but that's what trolls do.

I said it before, and I'll say it again, these trolls can't go a single day, without trashing the Sens and their fans ................. I know I can go an entire week without even remotely talking about the leafs, in any way, good or bad ..........something none of the leafs can do, in respect with the Senators.

Mark my words, from midnight tonight, nothing leaf related will be posted by me ......... and other the other side, the leaf trolls will continue with their obsessive behavior, because they're leaf trolls, they can't find it within their-selves to post only about the leafs, for even a day, never mind an entire week........... they just can't do it.

Doorion sure thought out of the box on this one.

Instead of letting turris walk for nothing, he paid the equivalent of 2 1sts for someone to take him.

Add the highlighted to the list of poop you just make up when you don't have a point.

1) Go find where I said anything remotely close to it being time to plan a parade.

2) Go find anywhere where I indicated that the significant cost was the Sens biggest building block.

I'll be waiting for you to show evidence of either of these things, or man up and admit that you make poop up because you are too stupid to form a real argument.

Which is it going to be D'oops? find evidence, or man up.

You paid 2 1sts + to upgrade from Turris to Duchene.

Leafs with 11 wins and 7 losses. Playing good hockey right now without their best player. Gotta love how the team stepped up.

Now if my team had 8 losses in just 15 games (more than half) i would want fans of other teams to not talk about it either. what i wouldnt do however, is throw a tantrum over it.

Ottawa surrendered the highly coveted (bu you) 28th pick over all, and next year's first rounder, some where in the mid 20s or perhaps even the 31st overall pick.

Here is the list of the last 11 28th first rounders selected ........... and in your, mind the most valuable players on their teams, and all future HOFers.

Lucas Johansen
Anthony Beauvillier
Josh Ho-Sang
Morgan Klimchuk
Brady Skjei

Charlie Coyle

Not sure that these every day comparisons serve any great purpose. Leafs and Sens meet in first round of playoffs if they're to start today. So far, this year, Sens have handled Leafs fairly easily.

im sure by the end of the season well have more than one game to go off of and the standings will change by then. so talking about playoff match ups is pointless because its no sure thing both or either team makes it, let alone play each other. though to be fair the idea is enticing especially from past playoff experiences involving both teams.

Ottawa still with the 6th best record (0.633) overall........ and the other Ontario based team is closing the Gap, and now sit with the 8th best record (0.611) overall.

I could point out that Ottawa, and a number of other teams a missing key players as well ............. but to be honest, with Awesome Matthews missing from the leafs roster, the leafs may be playing a better overall game, and it may help them in the long run.

Ottawa still with only 3 Losses in Regulation, only one other team has fewer, and the other Ontario based team has 7 losses in regulation.

Ottawa leads the NHL with 5 points in OT/SO losses, by being able to tie in regulation, and secure a single point, before being unable to pick up the extra point .... The Bruins are second, with 4 points OT/SO losses.

With ROW being the first tie breaker, Tampa leads the Atlantic division with 12, and the leafs are right up there with 10. Ottawa, Detroit, Boston and Montréal only have 6 ROWs ........ and this is an area that all these teams need to improve on.

ottawa has a horrible record. but because the nhl rewards teams for losing, they have a good point percentage.

Leafs 18 games 11 wins 7 losses

sens 15 games 7 wins 8 losses

less wins + more losses doesnt make for a better record. it just means you had alot of fancy losses

Yes and if 99 had been given a penalty for high sticking the Leafs would have played for the Stanley Cup.

Boucher coaches for the one goal game. He believes that the Sens can win in the third period or overtime. I think there is a philosophy behind it. It is hard as a fan to have third period tension in every game.

Still waiting for you to provide anything to backup your past ridiculous poop.

1) Where did I say anything about the Leafs winning a championship this year?

2) Where did I say anything about the Sens giving up their biggest piece of the future in the Duchene deal. (In fact, I said the exact opposite, in more than one thread, including this one).

3) where did I suggest, or even hint at, the best player on any team being a 28th overall. (In fact, I laughed at your 28th overall, all summer)

... either backup your crap D'oops or man up and admit that you are pathetic and have to make poop up. The list of stuff you just make up is growing.

Great win last night for the Leafs. Almost blew it in the third but really stepped up with the late goal and OT win. Amazing to see an old timer like Marleau able to keep up the pace with all that open ice 3 on 3.

More importantly, it's Rememberance Day. Time to put on the dress uniform and bring the family to the local cenotaph for the ceremony. I really hope all of you are able to observe in some way. Especially those of you around Ottawa. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a beautiful monument. And PLEASE open your wallets up whenever you see a Poppy Fund box, especially if it's being held by a veteran. They never get the attention they deserve except for a couple short weeks in November.

Lest we forget.

A really good game by Sens, Maybe best of season. Duchene is a great fit and power play looked really strong especially on the second Hoffman goal. Karlsson was unbelievable. Good to hear different announcers talk about the scope of his talent.
