There you go losing focus again. Two things matter; scoreboard and standings. SENS doing great on both.

Remember the goal was to survive the first 10 games until Karlsson got back. Just hang in until they could be more competitive.

Mission accomplished.

Love these guys. They are a battlefield hostpital of walking wounded and sick players. YET They took 3 of 4 points back to back against Flyers and Devils. How can you not love their character?

There are Eight Teams in the Atlantic division.

It seems as though no one wants to talk about the team they cheer for .......... except for Senator fans.

The Senators have managed to get points in 10 out of their first 11 games.......... and are only one of four teams that only have been beaten in regulation once so far this season.

They've done this without their full line up in most of their games, missing Key players due to injury.

This must totally amaze fans of other teams, as they can't find anything to say about the other 7 teams in the Division ......... I guess that's a sign that they see the Senators as one of the teams to beat in the Division.

Senators currently sitting Second in the Division, and now have the next couple of days off ............... until they meet the Canadiens on Monday.

FYI NHL leaders in Blocked shots

Ottawa - 186
Pittsburgh - 178
St. Louis - 165
Philly - 164
Dallas -152

The Senators also lead the Atlantic Division in Goal Differential

- D0PPELGANGER

gotta watch what you say. sens back to minus goal differential and once again it goes ignored.

sens fans dont talk about their team anymore. clearly you know what that suggests.

Would be nice to hear a sens fan talk about their team, once in a while ............... I guess they're just more concerned with how well the Leafs are doing in comparison.

Leafs and Sens movong into solid playoff positions. They will play each other in first round. Sens have won only head to head meeting this year.
- spatso

Update
Leafs still moving into solid playoff position
Sens....about where you would expect a mediocre team

Leafs with an 11 point lead on the sens now
Sens have 7 ROW, Leafs have 15

The mood in Ottawa is stinky and foul, fans turning on the coach. not a fun time

leafs pretty much have a lock on making the the playoffs this season.

Boston, Ottawa, Detroit, Montreal and maybe the Panthers will battle it out for the third spot in the Atlantic division, as it's pretty much the only playoff spot any of those teams have a shot at............ wildcard spots are a harder reach if you ask me, for any of those teams,

the better situation you and spatso tried so hard to ignore and debunk is making itself obvious. a bit of an "i told you so" moment is dawning.

on top of that they over paid for an over rated player and have no picks until the 4th round this draft.

yeah I have never though of Diorion as a good GM, and that mainly came from what he says on the radio here in Ottawa and a few moves..i get an old school vibe from him. Stuff like trading dahlen for old burrows for grit and whatnot, signing Oduya, Borowiecki etc..

it looks very much like a Leafy situation. They overachieved to get to the conf finals.. have been moving futures to put them over the top..when they are just a middle of the road team to begin with..probably worse

I have heard all about the "lock" and the 98% chance before.

It is way to early in the season to be putting a lock on anything. If we become a .500 team for the rest of the year we will finish with 89 points, not in the playoffs.

Sure, it is very likely that they make it, and I would certainly bet on it... but I am not shopping for playoffs tickets just yet.

The NHL stopped using Winning percentage years ago ....... when they brought in the "loser" point.
- D0PPELGANGER

They never did use win%. Ties earning a team 1 point alter a teams pts% too. Just differently than 3 point games.

Prior to awarding a loser point in OT losses and SO losses, back in the day of ties after 3 periods, and that was the end of the game, the NHL Stats page included a Winning Percentage column.

Once you could earn a point, in a loss, they switched it to Points Percentage.

Neither winning percentage, or Points percentage has even been used to rank teams during the season.......... it's just a stat they kept.

Leaf fans are not really comfortable talking scoreboard or standings. In 10 years nothing has changed very much. They are desperately in need of a serious veteran presence on their blue line. It appears to me that their problems are only getting worse.
