AMac, while passing yhe eye test, is not passing the syats test. His corsifor of 41% is the lowest he's ever had and his corsirel to the team is -11%. While i never wish injury on anyone, just like how when streit went down and we got ghost this may end up being for the besr - bulet13

That is roughly five times what I make in a year. So yes it is worth it. He also has the summer off. He plays a sport for a living. Please stop it with the pity party for professional athletes. AMac will be just fine with his $1.25mil (your math) this year. - mickel25
5x what you make sure but guess what, you have the freedom to do what you want. You can spend as much time with your family as you want. Risk of injury is much lower, you dont come home every night like some one beats you daily bruises all over ect. Injuries happen in our jobs but most of the time it is our fault. We made a mistake and got hurt. That isn't the case with hockey player. Injuries are generally from someone else trying to hurt you. Concussion rates are off the charts and we already know many NHLs who have taken their own lives or are addicted to painkillers because of this.
I never said I take pity on NHL players. I just said it wasnt fair to treat AMac like crap when he has been terrific and that the NHL life isnt as unbelievably great as people make it out to be. $240k is a big step down from 1 mill and when you think about it they take a lot more risk than some CEO who is banking similar pay. You also have to factor in that being an NHLer doesn't give you many options outside of hockey after you retire. |

Charlie O'Conner says the practice lines look like this based on jersey colors.
Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds + Read (grey)
Lehtera-Patrick-Konecny (green)
Leier-Laughton-Raffl + Weise (yellow) - Feanor
Right time to try something different with that third line. It's been getting hemmed in it's own zone too often. Lehtera deserves a shot to improve it after a strong performance on Saturday. |

You bash MacDonald but still defend Luke, who is also a role-playing, shot-blocking D type (just of a different sort) who was once miscast as a top-of-the-lineup guy. The way today's NHL is, for better or worse, the MacDonald type in that role is the guy who is preferred. And, again, I'm not a Schenn basher. - bmeltzer
MacDonald's a better skater and puck-mover than Schenn.... so yeah, you take that guy over Luke. |

Just stop. There is a great quote by Steve Wozniak from Apple " I'm getting paid a lot of money to do something I would pay to do". I'm pretty sure that applies to playing pro hockey too.

I'm not sure how Canadian taxes work. I assumed their tax rate would be higher largely due to publicly funded healthcare. I understand this may be naive. It would be great if someone from Canada could chime in. Nutter around? - JFlyers00
It higher sure but it isnt just healthcare, we dont have tolls and our politicians are crooked as well. Right now we pay a premium for the same electricity that Ontario gives to Buffalo for nothing |

Everyone who says Morin gudas are too similar to play together need to tell me what manning does better than Morin that manning played with gudas for almost a full year |

Don't really like breaking up the Ghost-Hagg pairing which was in a serious groove. Hakstol must not like the idea of a Provy-Gudas pairing. Hopefully it pays off and there is some new chemistry established. |

Hey that looks good to me! Swap out Lehtera for Weise for a couple games. Never thought I'd say this but it sure is nice to have Weal and Leier back. They make such a big difference with the way this team is structured. |
