I tried to do a full backread of today's thread... I got to about page four before my eyes started to bleed.

while the same team has won multiple super bowls and stanley cups a lot of teams feel like they have a legit chance to win and same with baseball. thing I don't like about basketball is you know all of what, 2-3 teams have a chance to win it all?

What the Warriors are doing now is unprecedented. There are normally around 5 teams with a chance to win a title.

The NBA doesn't sell the "anything can happen" narrative. It's all about the journey and the drama. It's about GMs making a series of good moves that puts them in position to become one of those top 5. It's about watching a young player like Giannis develop from a raw, uncoordinated teenager into a force the league has rarely seen. It's about watching the great players go from bad to solid to good to all star to legend over a 10 year span.

The NBA is rigged to keep the big market teams on top. That's why Hinkie did the extreme tank. Takes sooo much longer than other sports because it's not ahard Cap. too many loop holes. Heck the champ is usually way over the cap.

Basketball and hockey have so many similarities though as sports. What you love about hockey translates to b-ball. It's just not as fluky due to the %s and you see your best players more.

I stopped watching when teams couldn't score a hundred points. It was a joke. 67-58 after 4 quarters is not an NBA game I know. That's college scores. Air balls from inside the key, terrible passing... I had to turn away.

I'm a child of the late 70s & 80s. Had the same problem with the NHL when scoring went into remission. I stuck with Hockey because I love it while basketball was my 4th sport.
