I want to end this topic really but do you know what the core of Marxism really was about? Or just the voodoo stuff that was thrown out there to scare people from big bad mother Russia.
- flyer_nutter

It has been a few decades since I studied it, but I understand the core.

Yes but the miscommunication is where he got his years mixed up with my original post. Mac and Coburn only saw one full season together as teammates and that was the season Coburn was traded.

Not arguing with you. He just kinda put words in my mouth and Coburn and Mac did start the season as the top pair during the 2014-15 season before Coburn was injured. That's where he's wrong.

- SuperSchennBros

You're right, I mixed up the 2015 seasons and let them blend together.

However, your point about AMac being instantly paired with Ghost after he ripped up the league was incorrect or at least misleading. AMac was in the minors for most of that season and was called up due to injuries.

A big positive of all this could be showing that the team can play well without amac. An opportunity presented itself, so they need to take it and run with it. AMac is the least likely to stick around out of that group (ignoring Manning) getting a trial run for replacing him is cool with me

You’d figure they have to call up someone for the road trip though no?

Which is proof positive your income is based on what you can take/get away with not what you actually earn/are objectively worth to an organization. Which is OK but to think otherwise is naive.
- fls13

I can't agree with that. Nothing is absolute but I think it's the opposite.

Aren't you the guy who used to admonish people for discussing non hockey topics?
- BiggE

I'm sure I have in the past. Some topics I try to stay away from such as politics as I think that can get out of hand. I apologize if my participation or comments here have offended you.

No, it was difficult to find a job that you liked. You just stated that you freely quit a job because you hated it.

Again, using my dad as an example, he hates his job and hates his boss. But as a responsible adult, he deals with it because he needed to provide for his family.

If you can find a job that you love to take care of yourself, you're lucky. But that's not a privilege or a right, it's something that you have to work for. People just think that good jobs should be handed to them, and that's not the case.

- jmatchett383

I agree with you. But it is people rights to pursue happiness. Its a fundamental right of this country. And don't think I just up and quit my job one day. I waited until my wife had a job that could pay for healthcare and I took 2 years to apply for teaching jobs before I realized there was no-way to get one without getting experience... That meant taking a job for 100 dollars per day with no sick days and working so hard at that job that you impress someone to hire you.

Problem is thinking that the current reality is what’s best. That’s all brah.

Nobody is disputing what the real world is like, but more so that change could/should happen at some point.

On a position note, if Filppula keeps playing this week, I think we go into the draft with three first round picks.

I don’t know if Hex is the kind of guy to be a seller. I’d be dealing Mac, Fil and Lehtera this deadline if possible but I think he values the chance at a playoff push more than the return from trading the players.

K is it just me or are there huge gaps between games to start the season?

Seems like forever after every single one.

Hahaha! No. Filppula has been a key guy here since he arrived and the team's record since the trade is at a pace that would get them into the playoffs. I can't think of a better trade Hextall's made off the top of my head.

My brother in law is a Cop and my Son is in the Air Force.

They both understand the risk and proudly serve. My point of view in no way should diminish the respect they deserve or to minimize what it is they deal with on a daily basis.

But they understand what they signed up for and accept whatever may come their way.

I am not saying it is easy, or fun. It sucks, but I thank God for men like them every day of my life.

EDIT:

Just because i say they understand the risk doesn't mean i lack compassion. I truly don't know how one leads to the other.

I salute you, your son and your brother. I may have overreacted and let me retreat my high horse to the stable.
