Yep. College isn't for everyone

My dad's a tree surgeon.
My best friend is a correction's officer and has been a plumber and done construction.
My #1 Flyers' buddy is an engineer, but works in a trash to energy plant that is the dirtiest place I've ever seen.

I'm very lucky. I make a decent salary at a job that I like that has nice working conditions. I've worked to get here, and feel I've earned it. I worked crap jobs to make ends meet and to provide for my family.

Now, JFC, there's a dude who had no problem working as a carpenter to buy enough fish to feed an entire village. Stand-up dude.

I can't believe I didn't trigger a single person with the hasktol quote about lehtera over read "cause he's been here."

I don’t care bout Lehtera. Sucks to see Konec have to carry his line again but hopefully Patrick is able to get his legs back in time.

Manning over Morin is dumb.

My response to that is easy. Your dads wage should be higher, and in turn the wage of (let’s throw a easy example out) the wage of the CEO of amazon should be lower. There is too much of a divide/gap.
- flyer_nutter

I agree, but that's not gonna happen.

Ideal-driven 20-year-old me would vote for organizing the entire working class to stop working and watch the entire country shut down. 34-year-old me with a wife and 2 kids (second on the way) would never allow this to happen.

The assumption can be made if it's lehtera over read cause he's been here that manning over whomever is recalled because he's been there.

Side note mcdonald now healthy and waived to phantoms. Recall incoming...?

Case in point: A few years ago, I saw my buddy Dan. He had recently quit his job (some office position, it was a few years ago) because it "wasn't good enough for him" and was forced to move back in with his parents because he couldn't keep up with his rent.

Another guy I know was working for a home renovation company. He quit because he refused to work for someone else. He and his girl, who was living with him had to move back in with her parents because he couldn't find work, but refused to get a job of any sort where he wasn't the boss.

Both of these cases involve people older than me and someone my age. But the whole "not good enough for me" thing is really what annoys me. My dad makes $55,000 or so annually by hauling heavy, rotten, spider-infested logs around because it provides for his family. How many 18-year-old kids do you think would see that as something they'd be willing to do for the next 40 years?

- jmatchett383

So I worked a corporate banking job and realized I hated it. I sold my house, quit my job, and moved back in with my parents. However, I had clear goals, I got a job substitute teaching so I could get back into the teaching profession. I then got a job as a paraprofessional, and finally a teacher. I have no issue with people quitting their jobs to be happy, and no issue with them leaning on family for support. Better their family then my tax dollars. And if the families let them just sit there without working to find something better, that's on them.

Ahhh and this is the thing. It’s the thought that “it won’t happen”. I think it would take more hardship than we have now, and I am not naive enough to think that those of us who are not part of the general working class don’t know that as well. You don’t want to push people to that point or they will revolt.

I do think overall the quality of life for people is generally being challenged if not going down. More compromises, etc.

We should never accept that as a society. One day it will though, sadly I don’t think in my life time.

Not in any way.

I’d love for anyone to tell me why A CEO of wal Mart should make how much he does and in turn live that lifestyle opposed to say a baker.

Education, effort, blah blah blah. Nobody should be making how much some of these people make. The gap is too big, and the world needs more of a communal vibe. Less greed and selfishness.

Hasktol quoted on saying reason for lehtera over read as "because he's been here." Sounds like you better get ready for a giant heaping pile of Brandon manning for 4-6 weeks

Won’t happen. You’d need people to have more hardship.

You would never have support of media for one thing if you would try to “rattle that cage” so to speak.

You're really creating a narrative from the 2015-2016 season that didn't exist. AMac was in the minors for over half the season. I don't think he was ever paired with Coburn except maybe pre-season. He was called up and paired with Ghost due to injuries. That is when he showed he can be a steady partner for younger D. Something both Provorov and Ghost have praised him for.
- Baxter27

No, this is incorrect.

During Mac's full first season after resigning here, Mac started the season with Coburn on the top pair. It was the following season, his second season that Mac was sent to the minors.

I didn't create anything.

Remember the people who were doing the whole 99% protest a few years back? I'm not sure what the local wage is for your average construction worker or truck driver, but I can guarantee you it's more than those people made while they were protesting.
