Yea and guys just have to figure it out. They solved the mobility issue on D. I think they need to figure out what they want the 2nd and 3rd lines to be.

Part of the issue, again, is exiting the zone and sustaining pressure. That first game there wasn't a lot of hesitation and they went at the Penguins full speed. It looks to me like they are trying to leave the zone too cautiously and without enough urgency.

It also looks like a lot of guys are figuring out where they fit in and what their role is. It isn't an excuse but with how different this team is from last years, there is going to have to be an adjustment period. The challenge for the coaching staff and the front office is - how do you determine the issue is chemistry and minutes vs the issue is missing a player or two and not having the correct mix anyway.

Is that 10 games 20 games 40 games... Tough call. If the shot differential stays spread out like it is and they are getting spanked in every other measurable statistic after another 15 or so games then I think they have a problem.

If the top line isn't carrying over 50% of the play and the second line isn't closer to 48 or 49% in the next 10 or so games then maybe you start to push panic buttons. If those stats normalize though then I think they can roll with what they have and deal from a favorable position at the TDL.

They solved the mobility issue only in finding new players to use skill and desire to push the puck up ice better than last year's group did.

Forsling and Kempny are the two whose game I really get excited about if they can out it together. It is difficult knowing Q and Bowman plan to go with them even while they make too many mistakes in their game, overall, because the upside is that we need skillful good skaters in today's game where speed means more than it used to.

Forsling and Kempny need to be resilient and we need to see improvement in their game. Otherwise their ability in just one area, mobility is at stake. Another player replaces them who is less mobile then we have this mobility issue staring us down. While I like the skill package both bring, at some point at least once or twice during the season we want to see even baby incremental step(s) in improved performance.

I am passing on the review on mobility for Murphy since it is his hitting and making few mistakes which I value most from him.

I pass on Oesterle because I have a small data sample to suggest he is suited to playing regularly. I am glad to give him an opportunity since he is a dman with mobility as a strength. That he could be successful as a regular, however, is something he has to prove. If he gets the opportunity, I will watch closely as Edm GM didn't see him as a fit.

I admit the future third pair mobile guy could be Snuggerud. Why - because he is so good offensively. But he has to learn and master the art of playing defense this season in Rockford. Should he advance well in this aspect of the game, then he at least will get a look see.

I firmly believe some of the foreign prospects as well as Krys are whom Bowman is especially exctied to see progress in their current leagues. They have the skill and mobility now. They like Snuggerud have to either learn or refine their knowledge of the defensive side of the game.

Btw I see Press rotates out again. I have to wonder, is it just a nimbers game or injury for a while in Rockford. Their farm club affiliate has others btw not talked about whom might be marginal NHL defensemen one day.

Toews getting mauled behind the net. What does it take to get a holding/interference call? ref was right there.

Shades of Crawford against the Coyotes in the 2012 playoffs. Weak.

A good team does not let an inferior team own them.
We may straighten out where some players go in the line up. We may cha he a few things, through trade, call ups, whatever. Utt we have a,wats to go because good teams walk over the troubled weak tea.s like Arizona.

Maybe we have a lot if young players who just do not prepare or have the correct mindset to begin games?

Wait, what was that? I don't recognize that hockey play. the one where we have 5 skaters and they have 4 and we actually score. weird. We should do that more often.
